Hello,
I thought, for those of you who didnt notice/follow the discussion in this thread,
it is really worth to create a new thread about it.
Big Thanks to Moon[Drunk] who had the idea for it and LordHavoc who made it all possible in DarkPlaces.
Since may this year, LH implemented the possibility to have moving High Resolution Skies in DP.
Moon[Drunk] created High Res Versions from original sky1 and sky4 files
Jeank was so kind to help me out and created custom High Res Versions from sky1 and sk4 files.

Animated GIF from sky4 (klick on it to see animation):
You can create your own custom skies by follow simple rules like:
- complete texture consits of 2 seperate sides. Left= alpha layer (lower sky). Right= solid layer (upper sky).
- complete texture must have exact ratio of 2:1 (best is 1024x512)
- alpha layer should be very transparent to be able to see the upper layer.
- as usual, both textures must have the mosaic-tile characteristic (left side must match right, and upper side must match lower)
Attached you will find both, Moon[Drunk]s and jeanks textures.
Simply put the one you like into your ID1\textures folder.
Download
They look really great in-game.
Have fun !
Kind Regards,
Seven
