    No, I didn't.
I'll work on the guy's face. I wanted to give him a new look, but you're right about the eyes. Maybe Ill use the empty socket thing I used in the head gib for both eyes and have some little eyes looking at you from the holes. I'll work on the lips too. One thing I'm not planning to add is ears. Can't even see them anyway.

I don't blame you. It wouldn't look right anyway. Now that you mention it though - perhaps you could add some sort of detail on the sides of his face, or at least one side. Maybe a scar or something? His face does look a little too symmetrical.

I thought about giving him an empty eye socket, but I thought it'd look cheesy having all the ogres have only one eye. I think these guys are cloned...lol
Here's the latest. The face looks more like the original:

Much better! There are just a few more things that would make it perfect. First of all, the chin doesn't wrap around the model correctly. It's because you need to make it come down further at a point:

If you want to see exactly where the chin should end, just take a look at this previous skin made by OgrO. When looking at the deady body with his skin, the chin perfectly blends with the body like it should:

Second, the gun looks a bit odd when he is pointing it at you. The handle looks a bit like a candy cane or something. I'm not sure what you could do to improve it, but I'm sure you can figure something out. By the way, I must commend you on the arms of the Ogre. you did a very good job on that portion of the skin!

And my last little suggestion for improvement would be to add a little more detail on the forehead so it isn't so plain. Take the skin I posted above for example. your skin is much more detailed overall, but the skin above did manage to get a little bit of detail on the forehead with blood stains and all. The original skin had some bloodstains on the forehead as well. The facial features on your Ogre are still a bit too symmetrical, too. The teeth, although looking better, still look a bit too much like copies of each other. Vary them up a bit!

I hope you don't mind all my suggestions. I like your Ogre skin a lot - hence the reason I'm giving you so much feedback on it!

Edit: Oh, and a very minor detail I noticed is that you left out the Quake symbol on his armor.

Ok, the areas I asked you to improve look MUCH better - the teeth, armor, forehead, chin, gun, quake symbol, etc. - but I think the filters you added to the skin (the actual skin on the Ogre, not the whole texture) don't look very good at all. I was actually very impressed with the skin on the arms, legs, and and head the way you had it before. It was the strongest aspect of the texture. The tone was perfect, and it looked great in the game. Now, the areas where the skin show look lower quality - like sandpaper. I think if you revert areas where the skin show back to the way you had it before (give it back that polished look), but leave the new additions and details you created, then the Ogre would be just about perfect!

Oh, and you might want to make the scar on his forehead a little less prominent, so it doesn't look so much like Frankenstein. The idea is great, but it needs a few tweaks so it doesn't stand out quite as much.

Edit: Fragger, if you want the rest of your skins to be tested before releasing the pack as a whole, I would be MORE than willing to do it. I won't be nearly as picky as I am with the Ogre (unless you want me to be), since the Ogre is one of the most widely used monsters in the game - and possibly the hardest to create.

It's not a filter, that's why I get a different result every time. I'll play with it until I get that look again. As for the head, that's not a scar. It's suposed to look like his scalp was removed and then stapled back on, but a couple of staples on the forehead fell off and the skin is peeling back off.
I'll post jpgs of the skins here so you can take a look at them and give me some feedback, but I'm thinking about redoing a couple of them so they match the ogre's quality. So far, Im happy with the scragg, the dog and the ogre, but the grunt needs to be redone. It's hard to create skins that look good for such crappy models. THe zombie's gonna be a challenge, because the original texture is so simple. Oh well.

Ah, sorry then, it looked like a filter to me. I really liked the skin on the arms/legs/head of the original texture you had. You could actually get away with just clone stamping the skin from the legs, arms, and head (minus the new details) from the old one onto the new one and call the texture done - but it sounds to me like you have other ideas.

Yeah, I did catch that, but I guess I did a poor job describing it. I think it just needs to blend in a little more, and it would look great. Your Ogre skin is well on its way to being the best one available. OgrO's version was the best until now.

Sounds good! I wouldn't mind giving feedback on them one at a time, if that's the way you want it. In case you haven't already been able to tell, I'm somewhat of a purist when it comes to remakes of the original stuff.

Well, I think that after the ogre I will have to take some of the finished skins back to the "shop", or they will not be on par. I'm working on the soldier again, from scratch. One thing that will make this easier is the unwrapper I found. Now I have templates that show me exactly where the textures go.

The details look a lot better than before, but will you adjust the colors? The legs are a bit too black, and the shirt looks like one solid red color. The gun also looks kind of funny with the colors. The overall color contrast is kind of off. Maybe it would look better with more standard military colors?

That looks great! I have just a few suggestions.

-The legs have a little bit too much black on them. It looks weird when they are that dark with no detail. perhaps you could add something in place of the black so the legs aren't so dark?

-The shoulder pads could use a little more detail, although I do like the color you chose.

That's all I can think of for now. I especially admire the detail you put into the face and back!

Do you still plan to update the Ogre skin? I imagine you are taking a break.

                                I really like this one.

Even if you decide to go with a different one, can you keep this one as an alternate. It looks cartooney and has some very interesting colors.
