      I may have found the problem.. the vote code added a SetNewParms2 that is probably getting sent to the Frikbot. The instructions to install Frikbot on an existing mod say to comment out SetNewParms.. probably for very good reason. Adding another if (self.ishuman == 1) check to SetNewParms2 should fix it.

      EDIT: Tried doing that... still no success, now i'm really stumped...

      Thanks badaim. I hope to eliminate myself being a dick at all from now on... there's really no point. We all play Quake, so why not just unite as brothers and forget our differences. I've also sent an e-mail to ava with no reply yet.

      Using the laptop for my server works OK.. I just have to figure out why when i came back to it this morning, it was at the log-in screen. I thought I disabled all that stuff in Power Options... bleh. Using windows 7 pro on it.

        The cl_entitynum problem has been solved !

        Turns out I had used some special characters in bot_misc.qc to give the bots fancy names, and it didn't agree with some of them.

        The server is now stable.. ! Sorry for the inconvenience everyone. Connect and play some games!

          nah, Monster pretty much is a douche now. Used to be a cool guy, But thinks hes cool by saying "smoke d3m bluntz, o k" and says "if i put <-$ in my name will i be cool like you.

          gets annoying.

            Oh. and he likes to disconnect/reconnect to a server multipul times back to back..

            Thats why I banned him from Fquick.. Then unbanned him when we were done playing.

                Pfft, Monster has been around for years. He hasnt played in a while mostly due to real life. He's not a douche nor a butt tampon. He's a normal player like the rest of us, dont get all kimp'd out!

                  I think I know the problem:

                  You're *print()ing to a non-human (sprint or centerprint, the latter is more likely). If you can find out where this is happening, and then stop it, it will stop the overflows.

                      I *think* I've solved all the overflow problems with the bots receiving all the binds and whatnot.

                      Now another problem seems to have arisen (it probably happened previously without me knowing on the PQ server)... there are overflow problems without bots even being in the game. Peg and I were playing on muny05, rather small, cramped map, having some SSG duels, and right when we were both about to fire almost at the same time, the server crashed with SZ_GetSpace: overflow without allowoverflow set. This using the ProQuake server.

                      I'm guessing that happened simply because the proquake server can't handle the beefed up weapons and particles flying around. Maybe that's the reason Canadian*Sniper always hosted a Darkplaces server to begin with. Hosting a Darkplaces server works fine, I just have to find out if people still get spiky ping to it.

                        Are you allocating enough memory to ProQuake? DarkPlaces will dynamically allocate memory as needed. But in PQ maybe up the -zone parameter to 1024.

                        I was sure FrikBot used new sprint functions to jive with the bots. Maybe you have to undefine the bprint/sprint in defs.qc and use the ones frikbot defines?

                          Yes I have -zone 8192 in ProQuake and -heapsize 65536 (using wqpro400).

                          I have all the right stuff commented out in defs.qc according to the FBX instructions to install on a new mod... I'm pretty sure I've fixed the problems with the bots receiving sprint and all that.

                          Seems odd that just two players playing (no bots) could cause an overflow.. I thought it might be my laptop just not able to handle it.. but i put the server on this machine and still got the overflow errors

                            Played a game on the server with myself and three other players. As soon as spooker connected, he spawned on top of two grenades and died. As amusing as it was, that's not very fun!

                            My thinking is to let players who JUST connected to have a three second spawn-shield. Just so they can gather their bearings for a bit without being annihilated. Opinions on this ?

                            I've had no complaints about lag or ping spiking from the Darkplaces server, and it runs very smooth. The ping 'spiking' is maybe only a visual thing, according to LordHavoc, ping 'spiking' between 50ms increments is normal Quake behavior, other engines average the ping over the last 16 packets. Map changes are extremely fast, almost instantaneous with Darkplaces, even on my laptop. So Darkplaces server it shall remain!

                            Spooker, and Wick3d-Bluntz, how did you guys like the mod? I noticed you both left after only one game ! Didn't have the custom map?

                                I have very exciting news!

                                Avalanche has agreed to let me use the old Dredd serverbox for NewDM! Now everyone will ping great to the server, and the stability will be greatly increased. Awaiting his reply at the moment.

                                Good to know Spooker You could always download the mappack. only a 40mb download... can't go wrong with having a bunch of good Quake maps on your harddrive
