New Particlefont from Nexuiz

    yeah the weird scrag "plasma" spit was a deal breaker for me too, initially. good thing you had it fixed now because after i've seen the rocket explosions on this, i don't want to go back to the old one.

        Wish we could make the decals texture specific. Both bullet decals look bad as it's sand - the best for sand would of been the default but instead of pure black it'd be at something like 25-50% opacity to fake the appearance of sand being blown away where the impact was (a dent in the sand so to say).

        However since sand is basically absent in Quake (except in DoE) your bullet decals are far better I think I may blend the 2 together as the decal is very defined and a little less detail would be better (imo) as it looks like a "through and through" impact.

          cant wait to get my rig fixed so i can play about with this, LOL! all this talk of explosions sounds ery tempting bet its an fps killer though right?

            hello


            the fps drop for me is not that bad, and it can be tweaked.

            on my rocket trail setting i turned down the lightradius to 50...now i get hardly any fps drop.


            have a couple shots of the new effects on start map with spawnmonsters 10










            im working on new blood effects that came out looking good...ill post some shots later today.


            i added the old rocket trail to the nexuiz effectinfo...hope you like it

                  For those lost souls - you should try to see how it'd look with no modeled fire and then applying the Death Knight's projectile effect to it.
                  Will def be giving this updated one a try later today.

                    im still working on this particlefont...made a new alpha layer and the result is right were i want.


                    check the shotgun blast decals on the wall.

                      Looking forward to it, i am currently experimenting with the nexuiz particlefont you posted, and i am combining nexuiz, sevens, jakubs, jorix effectinfos and the results are very very nice! Thanks again Sean for this.

                              Wow thank you....its even better
                              I love how the blood in the water gives that extra layer of realism.
                              I use demo 2 for a reference and I missed the shot of the first blood boil as I dove in, from the first skrag downed.I wasn't expecting it whoa!
                              I was wondering could you make the blood spray from a wound like that baby diaper commercial?
