    At first, I was a bit surprised that the grenade launcher looked different than on the screenshot you provided a few posts above. Then however, I realized that was a different project, a modification of the Moondrunk skins (no new models, just reskinning the original models, with minor error corrections). Those might be interesting to see, too.

    I have played through the first original episode with the "new" weapons and ammo boxes and I have to say, the look & feel is really good. I haven't used the Ruohis models for a long time (took the Plague weapons instead with added normal/glossmaps), but with your modifications, they shine once more.

      Considering Quake doesn't have elaborate 1st person weapon animations, how about using normalmapped sprites instead? You'dd have perpixel geometry that way.

        Besides the release of the beefed MoonDrunk skins for the original models, I'd also be interested in improvements for the SoA weapons. I dunno if you use them, but OoPpEe released a pack a while ago with all weapons from the first mission pack in it.

        Maybe something can be done based on those to make them look even better (it's pretty good already though, you could basically only improve it by adding skins in higher resolutions, which OoPpEe might be able to provide).

            Great stuff!
            I am actually most interested in the enhanced classic weapons skins, but until you get to that, I'll gladly use the improved Ruohis stuff.

                  Love this weapon pack seanstar!...the nailgun....rocks! I did notice that the weapon sounds sounded a little...tinny?..to me, and some didn't sound "stereo" to me...the shotguns in particular almost sounded like the sound wasn't centered?...sounded louder to my right (yes, my speaker are balanced)...and the sound of the bouncing grenades was a bit light for me. The models themselves are awesome though. I just deleted the sound file and am using the generic sounds. Look forward to seeing more of your work.

                      Maybe there's just something weird going on with my setup but some of the sounds were a little wonky for me. I just downloaded the "mindgrid" sound pack and the one made by Seven so I'm gunna try those 2 out.

                          Can hardly get any better than that, man! I will stick to the original sounds however, but that's personal taste I guess.

                          Considering your skills to beef up Ruohis' models, I am really curious about what you can do with the Primevil skins for the original (debugged) weapons.

                          sean, I just noticed you have included some skins twice in your ID1 weapons pack:
                          v_shot.mdl_0.tga
                          v_nail2.mdl_0.tga
                          and
                          v_nail2.mdl_0_gloss.tga
                          are to be found in both "progs" and "textures" dir. Those in "textures" are duplicates and can be removed, saving 10 MB filesize in that case.

                            That new rocket launcher is sick!...looking forward to using that. Using your current weapon pack now. GR8 stuff...except for the new grenade launcher model...just not my cup of tea. How can I switch back to the standard GL?...what files do i need to delete?.

                              the gl model is called v_rock.mdl in progs folder.

                              maybe you will like the new weapons pack im working on...the gl model in it has mykeys grenade inside, is also more forward set.
