It would have been nice if the Strogg were originally connected to Shub Niggurath in some way.

Of course it would have also been nice to see expansions to quake that weren't nonsensical mission packs done by third party studios. I wanted to love Quake 1 Mission Pack 1 for it's great levels and really cool looking boss... alas the ending was insanely stupid and ruined the whole thing for me.

Quake 2 was a fun romp for it's time, but aside from the extra-dimensional "arena masters" gathering Doom, Quake, and Quake 2 intellectual properties together for the Quake 3 laugh we call a story there will be no official continuity link.

And I am sorely disappointed that they carried on with the Quake 2 story and ignored the Scifi/Gothic mash-up that was Quake One.

      To Zaric

I thought of something like that too, until the truth behind quake's legacy became a mix up in strories. However, ID software's first games doesnt have much of the story but just the action of the games until today's games.

But I wonder if what will quake be like if it was produced by Stephen King or John Carpenter? Since Romero is also a movie director.

They referred to Quake as an entity once or twice. Perhaps this entity was the one that subverted Shub-Niggurath to incite the Slipgate wars, Makron to launch the Strogg campaign, and Xearo to host the Arena...just a thought.

You do know this is the internet right?

To be quite honest - when I run into people like you online. It's just very funny. I could't help but troll further on this one.

Feel free to correctly my Grammar and punctuation. I think that's funny too.

I'd find it hilarious if iD were to one day try and patch up the story with a 'Quake V'.

I'd actually love to see them try and connect the games. But that's just because I want a return to form with the gothic settings.

Or I could just remake Blood and add sci fi elements. :v

They are no longer their own masters, so anything could happen. Including but not limited to a reboot of the series. Check the track record of their owner and their owner's owner.
