The purple car was able to avoid him. Stewarts car didnt exactly give me the impression he was doing all he could to avoid an accident. Call a spade a spade, why sugar coat a clear assault on a defensless driver - doesnt matter which one is stupider, as if the stupidest one is the guilty one? You get into a vehicle, there are responsibilities you accept. Sure, you put your own life on the line so do all the others racing with you, but ask any retired professional race driver and they will tell you there is no sense even getting that close to a person who is not even in a vehicle.

I'm not defending Stewart, but from a common sense/survival standpoint, walking on a race track is stupid. Whether someone's trying to run you over or not, you're asking for it.
I'm not saying driving that close to someone is any less stupid. In my opinion, they're both stupid. The only difference is one is dead and the other should be behind bars.

Common sense, I find it not so common.
REALLY? " ...the other should be behind bars", WTF?
You think there's enough evidence in that that blurry shit ass video, of Kevin Ward dressed all in black, at night, on a dirt track, with low lighting, to determine Tony Stewart's unequivocal guilt!!! AND, this all transpired on the opposite side of the video's vantage point!
Afuckingamazing
It's tragic I get that, but there is only one person who was ultimately responsible for Kevin Ward's death, and that's Kevin Ward.
There simply is not enough evidence at this time to show otherwise, period.Last edited by damage_inc; 08-11-2014, 02:17 PM.Name's damage_inc, and killing is my business. Don't worry though, it's nothing personal! Oh wait... maybe it is

True I dont see any attempt to get out of the way by the pedestrian, so that does not mean the driver should stoop to his level. You can even hear the gas pedal accelerate as he collides, and the car swerves IN the pedestrians direction - not away from it.
Guess Im old fashioned, but I was taught if you can save a life, save it. Even if you think its an asshole. Put your selfishness aside and think of someone else for a change. Maybe next time this happens, all the drivers will just run over the body and continue the race.....saves on the funeral bill, less weight so the hearse saves on gas.

Here's a shit storm of a thread on a MX forum about this incident: Tony Stewart, MX COMPARISON - Moto-Related - Motocross Forums / Message Boards - Vital MX
INSIDE, amongst all the "T.S.'s head right now" chat, is a lot of information from people who have raced, or been involved in racing, Sprint cars. Once you educate your self you'll see it's not as clear as you think it is!
Limited visibility specifically on the right side of the car is discussed. The handling of a Sprint car is NOT like a normal race car, it's a different animal altogether. It's very informative, if you get past your decision that he(T. Stewart) can ONLY be guilty at this point.
My point this whole time is that there simply is not enough evidence to declare any intent by T. Stewart to harm K. Ward and most of all, kill him by means of vehicular homicide.Name's damage_inc, and killing is my business. Don't worry though, it's nothing personal! Oh wait... maybe it is

I really don't see why you're getting so goddamn defensive over this though.
This reminds me of the BART police officer that shot that guy on the ground thinking he had his tazer equipped. Should he have tazed him? No. Did he mean to kill the guy? Can't say to a certainty, but highly unlikely. Was he stupid? Absolutely. Yet everyone around the bay area signed him off as intentional murderer and started rioting and shit.

You can't see why I'm getting defensive Dutch?
People with no experience racing Sprint cars, who weren't there live as a witness, are simply playing judge, jury and executioner over some shit as video of what they FEEL is how the events transpired. Claiming they KNOW he ran him over killing him on purpose!!!
And, I'm not really defensive, I'm just pointing out the actual FACTS!Name's damage_inc, and killing is my business. Don't worry though, it's nothing personal! Oh wait... maybe it is

Originally posted by CobaltI looked at it again, this time with my eyes closed, and yea, its a totally new perspective.
That's my position after thinking about it a lot harder than I previously did. If I'm going to be faulted for employing more thought process into the matter and reversing myself, so be it.
On a side note, before this spirals out of hand, I'm the kind of guy that can come back tomorrow on a completely different thread and go back to being normal and friendly. I don't hold grudges, I rarely get angry in debates. So if anything I say is going to be taken personally, just remember I don't take anything personally.

Well, feelings DO matter....to those of us still able to get in touch with them. There is such a thing as a sympathetic jury...well there use to be, but it may be a thing of the past. I say we put robots in there, ethernet em into Google, and lower ourselves to the level of the robots...may as well. Humans may let their feelings get in the way of things, and we can never have that, oh no no noooo..
How did we ever get this far with these pesky feelings ? Bleech !
