I wonder how many have been waiting for my comment on this since I am a 'racist'.

The officer should have been convicted of negligent homicide. This was nothing compared to the Wilson / Brown case. Eric Garner was not a thug piece of shit like Michael Brown. He was being investigated / arrested for selling 'illegal cigarettes' due to a cigarette tax within the communist (democratic) state of New York. Truly sad.

One thing I learned is if and when a choke hold was needed you did not choke them to death. You hold on strong enough to not let them get the upper hand on you.

When a 'TAX' get's a person killed you know there is a problem with this country.

When you are half the size of your suspect I think the only way you could get him down is with the headlock. Yea, headlock, its not always a chokehold unless you squeeze real tight. Besides a small guy like that with a short arm would not be able to choke him to death so fast...the size difference would mean it would take alot longer than a the 10-15 seconds in the vid. I mean , man if little guys can kill like that... I must have missed something growing up, because the big guys always won the fights against the little guys as far back as I remember. All I can say is it probably had a lot to do with he is asthmatic which accelerated his respiratory problems. I once dated a girl who was asthmatic and when she felt a stressful situation coming on she would back off and take deep breaths....she was only 5-7 and she didnt go around trying to start trouble and put herself at risk by acting tough either. I mean you got 4-5 cops plus on the scene and its just you, so how does that help your asthma staying there putting yourself at risk? If he valued his life, he would have backed off. Instead I think he wanted to stir the pot by turning it into a race issue and it backfired on him.

@wl's comment - you are spot on and apparently a Rand Paul reader. In my opinion any cop that needs to result to violence to aprehend a non-violent offender isn't much of a cop. If they had dirt on him they could have taken him anytime/anywhere, so why the big public display?

unrelated: there are an awful lot of non-descript helicopters in the sky above me. Ive seen at least 3 different ones and they all look military to me. Not green logoed military but jet-black "futuristic" military. I wonder if they are trying to find me for letting my drivers license expire 2 days ago (kidding)

I'll jump in. This was really too bad. But, the city of New York passes some pissy laws like not being able to sell "loosies" on the street to get away from the crazy taxes. You have the merchants calling and complaining that the guy was selling them on the streets. So the cops have to deal with it. It looked like they went out of their way to deal with the guy without force. But at that point has resisting arrest. Earlier in the video he was a little more active if that's a good way to put it. So now you have a big dude that is resisting arrest. You ccan't exactly tell him hes being an aholea hole and go away. So they try to grab his hands and shit. Well after that they really dont know how they are going to arrest this guy. So they try to do it where they are at an advantage because once they put hands on the guy they have no idea what he will do. Well he ended up having some medical issues prior to any of this and the doctors said that they contributed to his death. I've been in the situation of having to take someone down. They will say many different things to try to get out of it. I'm sure these cops had heard it all before. If eevery time someone was resisting arrest and all they had to say was I can't breath and get out of it? Well they would all do it. The cops had to get the handcuffs on the guy. That's the goal when something like that happens.

So bottom line. Listen to copsbecause they don't like doing that shit trust me. they know that their every action is going to be gone over with a fine tooth comb. And tthat's regardless of race or if there is media attention over it.
If you see 427 playing Quake thats me.

you need to go watch youtube 'fights' and see how many little guys beat down big guys. I know a "now" 24 year old who at age 12 could beat your ass senseless and that goes for me too. I am 6'3 300lbs and I certainly have no chance against this kid 12 years ago and even today. He was not trained at age 12 to fight, he just had this one of a kind special gift for fucking people up. He is a MMA fighter now and also a close friend of mine.

You can youtube him if you want too. His name is Donny Bush.
I was 19 when he was 12 and I would not have fought him unless I honestly had to defend myself. He's one hell of a fighter from birth and yes he's smaller then I am by far.

I am 100% pro law enforcement however I don't agree with choke holds. I went through the academy and worked in the field for over 3 years. At the point when they grabbed his arms the officer could have eased up on the choke hold. He did not however and I am fully aware Eric Garner had a medical issue already but it was sparked due to the extended length of the choke hold. Someone his size is very easy to cut off his air supply with half the pressure of a skinnier persons neck.

Bottom line is, He held the choke hold for too long and a death was the result of it.

What about when it's multiple "smaller" trained police officers vs one bigger guy?

Size doesn't really matter if you have the numbers and the upper hand.
                    _

The guy was obviously resisting arrest but I guess selling "loosies" and being asthmatic is punishable by death to some people.

In the end and the bottom line is,did he deserve to be physically restrained? Yeah, he was breaking a law even if it was a petty offense. Did he deserve to die for his actions? Hell no. Nobody of any color or creed should die like this.

There were enough officers there to get the job done that an illegal choke hold was unnecessary and I feel the officer who executed the choke hold should be held accountable for his actions.

Once you break the law you are no longer a law abiding citizen, you are a criminal and should be treated as one whether you're a civilian or not. I think that's the real issue here is that certain police officers are crossing lines and literally walking way with little to no consequence.

Some people think "police officers have it the worst, they have to deal with everyone's bullsh!t" well who put them in the role of police officer? If they aren't mentally capable of knowing and following the law while clearly showing sloppy performance then they should DEFINITLY be removed of their status. They are human beings just like everyone else, they make mistakes, they lie, cheat and steal (not all obviously) just like everyone else but there's a LEO code that many officers good and bad live by and they will usually band together when there's trouble amongst one of their fellow officers to help them out. Officer is a job title just like any other title. You show up, do your job correctly and you go home at the end of your shift. Bad people exist and some of them choose to be police officers instead of meth lab workers.

If you think everyone has a little good in them then you haven't met everyone.
