Hehe, the idea of universal healthcare isn't the problem.

It's the incompetence of our government that is the barrier.

Republicans are dead wrong in thinking we don't need universal healthcare, Democrats are dead wrong in thinking that the federal government would actually be able to do it efficiently.

(We've got a $1.3 trillion deficit ya know, and $11 trillion in debt, $65 trillion in true debt if you count future obligations, the average federal employee makes $79K per year .. think about the implications of this).

Having the US federal government run healthcare is like taking the worst laziest employee in a company and promoting him or her to run the place.

Anyone who thinks General Motors was inefficient and incompetent, GM can't hold a candle to how poorly the federal government is adminstered. It is like a gravity well that sucks in money and provides so very little in return at such an extraordinary cost.

Case in point, the Department of Homeland Security costs $60 billion per year so we've thrown $420 billion into Homeland Security since 2002. You could build 50 World Trade Centers or the entire continent of South America for that amount of money. And all we get is people to make you take off your shoes and go through a metal detector at the airport.
