>go back to Phoenix and de-cripple him with medikit, then both continue on bridge
Phoenix is now at 45 health.
Phoenix is now Partially Crippled.
"Thank you, sir. Lets get the hell out of here. Can't shake the feeling that something is watching us..."
You nod. You head back to the bridge and head up the right staircase. You fire a few Lightspark bolts to illuminate the room.
Ahead of you is a small computer terminal. It appears to be turned off.
Behind you is what appears to be a large hole in the floor.
On either side of you are some rather uninteresting walls.
You hear the faint rippling of water below you.
You hear distant indistinct wimpering. You're not sure from where.
You smell fresh blood.
The air in here feels like its getting colder. Understandable, since the power to the base is offline, there is no heat. But still...it feels even colder than just an unheated base. There is a source of cold emininating from somewhere.
Theres a wrapped box next to the terminal. You wander over to it and carefully unwrap it.
Ray finds 4 medikits and 4 stimpaks!!
Woot! Lets get ourselves healed up. You inject one stimpak into yourself.
Ray is now at 100 health
You adminiter 2 medikits to Phoenix
Phoenix is now at 95 health.
Phoenix is no longer crippled.
Right then. What now?

>inspect computer terminal, try to get it online, keep an eye on the hole
...oh right. The power to the base is offline. Hm. Wonder where the Circuit Breakers are in this place? You look over at the hole in the floor. Hm. This hole looks like it was built in on purpose, rather than accidentally, as if from an explosion. You saunter over to it and try to peer down. Its about a 10-foot drop from what you can see. You smell the stink of still-water...perhaps even a twinge of waste. Theres definitely some water down there. No telling how deep it is, or if there are any of those detestable Shadowfish down there. You can hear the subtle wimpering a little better when you place your ear to the hole. Should you be into water again? Not like theres much else to do, except maybe backtrack and explore a little better.

>and then Ray was into hole
"Sir, you might want to come see this..." Phoenix buzzes over MM2. You inquire what he's found. "Its...well...." You start swimming toward his location. "You remember that whining we heard earlier?" You gurgle a response while approaching the end of the passage. You emerge from the waste and wipe your eyes clean of the crud. You look around to see your companion kneeling over a badly-wounded Fiend. You site your shotgun at the thing's head
"Sir, stop!" Phoenix shouts. You give him five seconds to explain. "Sir, this creature may be wounded, but even so, it would have evicerated me as soon as look at me. It hasn't made any such effort." Phoenix places his hand close to the Fiend's mouth. "See, sir? It doesn't seem to be interested in harming us." You examine the creature. It appears smaller than the Fiends you've seen. Its horns and claws aren't caked in blood. Its face has black residue all over it. It's hurt pretty badly. It looks over at you and makes a very pathetic whine. Hm...emotions you didn't think you had begin to pull at you. You actually feel genuinely sorry for this poor thing. Well, seems theres three things you can do here:
-You can kill the Fiend and put it out of its misery. It could very well be hostile, but too wounded to do anything about it. Phoenix likely won't be too happy with you if you choose this option.
-You can heal it with a medikit and a stimpak and see what it does. It could very well join you and aid you in your quest. Hey, you've always wanted a pet.
-You can ignore it and let it suffer to death. It's none of your business and time is important. Plus, you'll save a shell and some healing items.
What's it gonna be, hero?

*Attempt to "curb stomp" the Fiend* if that fails *Shotgun barrel to head and pull trigger*
>speak fiend to it, you've been around them for nearly 15 years; must have picked something up
>give it a stimpack and see what it does
Darkscythe has joined your party!
Pet info has been added to the Status screen
-Pet-
Darkscythe has 41 health
Darkscythe has 0 armor
Darkscythe is Partially Crippled
Your fiend has exceptional stamina, surpassing even your own. He has a maximum of 300 health and can be outfitted with the same kind of armor you wear. He can't use any weapons, but with his deadly claws, he doesn't really need any. Unfortunaly, Darkscythe is incapable of carrying any inventory items, which means healing items must be administered by either you or your companion. Darkscythe has an excellent sense of smell and highly keen eyesight. He can also see perfectly in low-light situations. His jumping ability is unmatched by any human, but he will be unable to jump high if crippled. He can understand most english commands, but cannot respond in kind. You're not sure just who owned this Fiend before you, but he seems eager to take revenge on the Shadows that assaulted him and left him for dead.
That being said, you now have the freedom to have a better look at the room you're currently in. Theres another passage infront of you that heads underwater.
You should probably consider finding the Circuit Breakers. Who knows...they might be around here.
