>inspect entire battlefield, salvage anything useful... and then go through the portal
You carefully play leapfrog along the broken pathway of floating rocks and shattered stairways, checking any corpses along the way. None hold anything of interest except the handful of Enforcers.
Ray finds 30 energy cells, a screwdriver, and some Moderately Damaged Yellow Combat Armor
Down on the Elder God's Platform, you find a single dead Shadow with some relatively pristine Shadow Armor and some ammo.
Ray finds 5 shadow plasma cells and some Lightly Damaged Shadow Armor
Ray's now has 125 Yellow Soul Armor
You decide to head through the portal. What could possibly be worse than what you've already faced, right? You feel the same general discomfort as when you went through the slipgate. You must be heading to a different map.
When you arrive on the other side, you find yourself in a dark and dismal fortress-like environtment. Torches scatter the wall, some lit, some not. You wonder if maybe Console can identify this place properly without blowing your arm off. You type "location" on your armpad. Console responds with "The Crypt of Decay." Thats a pretty scary-sounding name. Obviously this place is part of Quake, but you suspect that it has already been overrun by Shadows. You hope that you have what it takes to take on these Shadows. You don't have any more barrels to throw at them. You're still not entirely sure how your Shadowpulse Rifle works on them, and you suspect that your shotguns might not be very effective at all...but then again, you haven't tested the Super Shotgun on them. ggraaaarrrrggghhhh
Shit. Theres that hallow, empty yet furious growling. There are Shadows here, and they sound close. "SOLDIERS, SECURE THE PORTAL! MAKE SURE NOTHING FOLLOWS INTO OUR REALM!" That hollow, yet booming voice...it must be that robed Shadow. Well, here they come. Better get ready for the worst...
You run back behind the portal. Hopefully, they're not smart enough to check common camper places like this, but you're not entirely sure how smart these Shadows are. You swap out the Shadowpulse Rifle with your Blaster Rifle and load a few batteries into it.
>press square to shot web
You frantically look for a square button anywhere around your wrist areas. Alas, to your great dissapointment, you admit to the world that you, infact, do not know how to shot web.
Oh yeah, you have a pair of grenades, dontcha? Glad you remembered, cause I almost forgot! So, lets see...these grenades are meant to be used as ammunition for a grenade launcher...doesn't look like theres a pin or anything that you can pull to use it as a hand grenade...but you think you have an idea. You ready your Blaster Rifle and pop out from behind the portal. You then set your Rifle's sites upon the closest Shadow Soldier (there are 7 of them infront of you, by the way.) You fire a blast into the Shadow's chest, creating a neat little hole. The Shadow doesn't die from this, but is staggered quite a bit. You then say a little prayer to the Gods and chunk the grenade into the hole. It lands with a soft *THUMP* and sticks to the Shadow like a sticky bomb. You aim your rifle at the grenade and fire. Soon as you pull the make-shift trigger, you fall back behind the portal. Split-seconds later, you hear a blast and some very angry growling. The Shadows that are left are now firing upon your position. You scramble away from the portal, which is providing very little cover, and start firing back. You remember that you don't have all that many cells, and you're not quite sure how many you'll find lying around, so you fire conservatively, making sure your shots are headshots. Four Shadows remain after the blast. You are able to blast two of them with one-shot kills. Two remain...and they're pissed. One of them scores a direct hit on your chest, but it is absorbed by your Shadow Armor. The searing effect of the plasma damages both your Shadow Armor and your Combat Armor slightly, but you lose no health. You fire back, catching one in the shoulder. Although there is a clean hole in the soldier's arm, it doesn't appear to notice the damage. Seems these Shadow creeps are hardy and don't feel much pain. They're also anticipating headshots now and have altered their movements. You fire three shots at one of them. It dodges one shot completely, and the other two manage to hit it in the chest and abdomin. It's staggered for a second, so you use that second to blast it in the head. One left. The thing slings its rifle to its back and charges at you with clawed shadowy hands. Shit. You fire six shots at it, but it dodges each one. Now that it doesn't have to aim a rifle at you, it can use its agility to its fullest. You sling your rifle to your back and pull out your Super Shotgun. As soon as the thing is right in front of you, you blast it right in its midsection, sending it sailing back at least 10 yards. You put your shotgun back and take your Rifle back out. The Shadow gets back to its feet and charges at you again like nothing happened. This time, you're ready. You crouch down and study its movements. The few seconds it takes for the Shadow to get close enough to you seem like minutes. It readies its claws to rip your face off, then you blast it. Its head flies clean off its shoulders. Victory....
Their armor is trashed, so you collect their ammo and set off on your way.
Ray recieves 35 Shadow Plasma cells
Ahead of you is a bridge that overlooks a large pool of water. Past that is a passageway that leads left and right.
Behind you is the portal back to Yogg-Shargoth's Pit.
The walls to your left and right are covered in shadow. It appeares to be altering the dimension. The sky above you is as dark and moonless/starless as the sky was back at the Slipgate Complex.

...mkay then. At some point you figured it was a good idea to plunge head-first into the pool below. You don't worry about how deep the water is, or what might be down here waiting for you, or even if theres any way to get back up to the bridge. Nah, you don't worry about such trivial shit. You're Ray, the baddest-assed USMC ranger that ever graced a shotgun with your magic hands. Oh, theres a shoal of Shadowfish coming after you with teeth the size of a shambler's claws, btw. Yeah, check out that profile! Look at these muscles! And that swandive you did? Flawless! Damn, you're awesome!
Really? The axe? Seriously, teeth the size of Shambler claws. Well...its likely your Blaster won't work underwater...you're really going to make yourself do this aren't you? Alright...but you're probably gonna hate yourself in the morning. You pull out your axe and brace for combat with the rapidly-approaching Shadowfish. You swing at one of them and, to your great surprise (/sarcasm), the fish dodge your slow-ass, hindered-by-water swing. One of them retaliates with a vicious bite to your forearm. If you could speak underwater, your exact words would be "HOLY MOTHER OF FUCKING SHITBALLS ASS FUCK SON OF A BITCH OUCH!!!!"
Ray is now at 70 health...
> Try shooting the super shotgun.
Right. You fling your axe aside (don't worry, you'll get it later) and pull out Mr. Double-Barrel and pray to the Gods that it works underwater. You pull on the trigger and *KERBOOM* the pressure release of the weapon is felt through-out the entire pool. Hm...a projectile powder-based weapon that works underwater...this dimension is weird. Two loads of 20 gauge shot peppers the group of fish (there are four of them, by the way). They're quite a bit tougher than Rotfish, but not nearly as tough as a standard Shadow Soldier. The buckshot stuns them a bit, but doesn't kill them. You reload the barrels and unload another blast focusing on a single fish. *KERBOOM* Buckshot rips through the fish, taking its backside clean off. It floats to the surface, dead. You repeat this process with another fish. The other two don't look very happy at all. You lay down another two loads on them, peppering and stunning them. You then proceed to blowing them to pieces individually. Phew....they're all dead...and it only took 12 shells. Sheesh. Ok, so the enemy is dead....you feel like you're forgetting something here.
Ray sufferes 7 health from drowning
Oh yeah...air is good. You swim to the surface and fill your lungs with air. That's better.
> Check your equipment to see if water did any damage.
The USMC outfits their rangers with water-proof satchels for their inventory purposes, but just in case, you take a gander. Hm...seems like a bit of water got in when you took your SSG out. Everything looks ok except for your Shadowpulse Rifle. Seems it has a bit of a short in it. Ah, shit, it won't fire. You opt to let it dry off, hoping maybe that'll fix it. Everything else looks to be in ship-shape. You close your satchel, swim back down and retrieve your axe.
> when all fishies b dead; inspect underbelly of bridge, explore watery pit for secrets
You look up at the bridge. Nothing worth mentioning. You stick your head back underneath the murky water and look around. Hm...theres a passageway off in the distance. Ooooo, its a narrow sombitch. It'd be a tight squeeze for you to go through it...and you have this thing about underwater claustrophobia. Something about drains, whirlpools, tight underwater tunnels and the such scares the holy shit out of you. You opt NOT to go in there. Ever. But you do get close to it, close enough to peer down into it. A tiny voice whispers something in your mind.
Welcome to the Well of Wishes
Hm...An underwater wishing well? Cool. And you just happen to have a quarter that hasn't served any useful purposes to you yet. You suspect that this well will grant you a single, reasonable wish to help you in your mission in exchange for your quarter. Better make it a good one...
