First off, let me say I wish this was true about no longer being a two party system, however it is not true. It's far from it. Gary Johnson received 0.9% of the popular vote. If you think that's showing that the US is no longer a two party system, you're delusional!

Libertarian Gary Johnson received 1.1 million total votes in 2012.

Libertarian Bob Barr recevied 523,000 total votes in 2008.
Independant Ralph Nader received 738,000 total votes in 2008.

Take that in contrast to the two party candidates...

2012 - Obama received 60 million votes and Romney received 57 million votes

2008 - Obama received 69 million votes and McCain received 59 million votes

The US is still a two party system.
