A lot of these states full of citizens that wish to secede were won by Obama during the election. Makes you wonder, doesn't it?

People are getting fed up with Big Brother. For example, I used to get basic health care through my job for free. Now, I have to pay $65 a week for it, and being FORCED to have health insurance, it's either eat the $65 weekly charge or try to find some other carrier that would be cheaper (yeah... good luck). Guess what else, if you already had health insurance, your costs are going to rise.

Now I need to survive with $260 a month less than I used to, and it's not like I make a ton of money. Some weeks I only make $200. But whatevs, Obamashamalammadingdong best prez eva.

UK and Scotland is a better example (I live in Ireland, NOT a good example).

As we all know, Scotland is a country that is part of the United Kingdom, located on the same landmass as England and Wales ("Great Britain").

The Scottish Parliament formally opened on 1 July 1999. It is a devolved Parliament which has been set up to legislate for Scotland's domestic affairs.

The Scottish Parliament has responsibility for all matters (known as devolved matters) which have not been formally reserved to Westminster (where the UK Parliament resides). It therefore has the power to create new legislation, or amend or repeal existing legislation, in the following areas:
                • health
                • education and training
                • local government
                • social work
                • housing
                • tourism and economic development
                • many aspects of transport
                • law and home affairs (including, the police and the emergency services)
                • the environment
                • agriculture, forestry and fishing
                • sport and the arts
                • statistics, public registers and records
                • planning
                • natural and built heritage

Although the Westminster Parliament retains power over UK tax matters, the Scottish Parliament does have the power to vary (increase or decrease) the base rate of income tax in Scotland by up to 3 pence in the pound. It also has the power to regulate local taxation.

The UK Parliament at Westminster retains powers (called reserved powers) over the following matters:-
                • the constitution of the UK
                • UK foreign policy
                • UK defence and national security
                • UK fiscal, economic and monetary policy
                • immigration and nationality
                • employment legislation
                • social security
                • transport safety and regulation
                • certain other matters subject to UK and GB regulation, including, abortion, equal opportunities legislation, the National Lottery.

See Scottish Parliament - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Scotland also has a completely separate legal system. Unlike with Ireland, nobody died to make this happen (well, in recent history anyway).

Stupidity IMO. There are other ways to make your points and if you have a problem deal with it in the appropriate manner. This is childish. Reminds me of the kid with the ball on the playground who is fine as long as they win and then whine and go home when they lose.

You must know something the rest of us 300+ million Americans DONT know....Care to elaborate on what you consider would be a better approach to "Fixing our Broken Red Wagon" , or shed any light on what you consider to be the "Adult approach"

People are filing to secede even in states Obama won, including those states which he didn't win. They have exercised one political right, of voting. They didn't get what they voted for, so now they are exercising another political right - the right to petition the government. It's not stupidity, it's people trying to get what they want.

And what has Obama said about this so far? Not a damn thing. He's too busy frolicking with his Muslim brothers over there in the Middle East to pay any heed to the fact that his country back home is falling apart.

No, I don't care to elaborate on something that is childish. You can tell me why you don't agree, or why you can't think of proper ways to make points heard politically. Secession though...c'mon man! These are the "United" States or hadn't these people noticed?? There was this thing called the Civil War a long time ago. I thought we were more adult than that but obviously...

Obama won the electorate and the popular vote as well get on with life and vote the ******s out you don't want when the elections come for any number of things in the next 4 years.

                          Oh, wait, I did elaborate

I see nothing stupid about people exercising their political rights which our founding fathers fought, bled and died for. I'm sure every last one of them are turning in their graves. People are fed up and they're not getting what they want. I don't see what's so strange about this, we seceded from Great Britain ages ago, and the only reason there was a war because of it was because Great Britain didn't want to let us go.

I think it's highly unlikely a secession does occur, but if it does, I think the only reason there would be a civil war would be because our current government would try to keep us by force, much like Great Britain did.

The only thing a bit childish....the goverment = like a spoiled little 16 year old with a habit of borrowing daddys credit card (Uncle Sam's pockets run deeper than they should in reality).More debt = more taxes. I mean, think about this for a second.

The goverment does not pull equal weight in terms of work done vs getting paid. They take take and take, and make poor decisions (like inflate a black market, destroying mexico and dividing massive chunks of it into cartel territories, and creating the street level profits for untaxed blah blah blah. Prohibition didnt work on alcohol and prohibition of any drug really wont work either. I dont advocate legalizing coke or crack or meth etc, oh noes marijuana is the end of story.

LOOOOOL. I've never seen a politician whos pocket wasn't lined with money broseph. This is facts, $ makes the world turn...

Remember when Bill Clinton admitted to smoking on MTV and 'got in touch with the youth / Rock the Vote' ? Change is coming whether old geezers who are stuck in the Nixon era / these cronies almost 99.99% of the time who are holding top positions in goverment are old dickheads and I bet our highschools are churning out over 50% 'tokers / or atleast understand that its no where near as bad as the goverment would WISH they could convince you it is,and understand its value'

and soon, Change is coming. We amass numbers faster than say,a new dickhead can be born.

Maybe faster if the Geek's hack their way to the top with Political-Owning.
