First off..I never said I knew something everybody else does..I'm exercising my right there Foq that's all..

I don't disagree with the idea that government doesn't put in what it takes out in pay. I still think the method is stupid and that's not going to change, nor will their tantrum change anything either. To me it's acting like spoiled children. What would Louisiana or Texas or my state of Oklahoma do when the next natural disaster of hurricane or tornado comes through..who would pay for it? People in those situations always rely on the government and in those cases its needed. The USA needs to quit conceding so much to big business and the military. Let our intelligence agencies do their job and quit sending armies that costs us so much. I just think this method makes no sense.

Stupidity IMO. There are other ways to make your points and if you have a problem deal with it in the appropriate manner. This is childish.

I humbly disagree bro. I think you are possibly considering the petitions to be whole-hearted and serious. Most of these states couldn't secede from the Union even if they wanted to, cause they would collapse without federal funding. I guarantee you that a large portion of the signers are aware of this. This is an open message to the President - we do not like you, we do not want to live in "your" America. This puts the President on the ropes. He now has to make decisions knowing that millions of people hate him so much that they are willing to take their entire state out of the Union. I believe this sends a VERY strong message to Washington.

I think the entire nation should sign these petitions so the President can consider what it would be like to be President of the land known as "his desk" and only that.

As a teacher of sociology at a university this strikes me as nonsensical as there are so many other positive ways to make a point and let politicians know your opinion. Furthermore, you can be assured that the ones who signed were on the losing end of the election. Same as Papa John's pizza saying he will lay off how many? uh...we already had the best health care in the world for all that live here. I had a $35,000 surgery 100% paid by a catholic charity. My father has had FOUR heart surgeries paid by medic(are/aid...i forget which). This was all way before Obama. We are not even close to the only two people in this nation that have received excellent medical care, which was paid for by services that are intended to help those that need it.

Don't let them brainwash you bro. The medical system wasn't broke in the way they are trying to fix it. There is/was a surplus of care available for anybody with a social security number.

EDIT: Actually I would like to add a bit of other facts here, to show just how available health care already was. Charity Hospital in New Orleans Louisiana was wiped out after Hurricane Katrina - so no Charity Hospital. When I finally decided not to die to death and do something about my problem, I went to Covenant House, got some free exams and was immediately given a "pass" to see a surgeon. I then spent the next 6 months visiting Louisiana State University Medical Center for more exams. Finally, I was granted a surgery date. I went to my surgery, healed up with 2 follow up visits and proceeded to have my life back. All thanks to Sisters of Mercy charity - which I was not ever in contact with during the entire time. This is all in New Orleans, Louisiana. This all cost me nothing, 0, zip, zilch, nada. I didn't even have to pay for the card that made me eligible to receive such care. This costed taxpayers nothing.

Don't you see? When Ron Paul (he's not my hero) said that the private sector does these things better, he was right.

Only New Orleans, Louisiana has the best health car in the world? Hardly. This stuff was available everywhere that there are Catholics and Hospitals.

OK, lets say you are correct and there are States that do not have these programs. Why can't they adopt them? My health care needs were met with eliteness for nothing. Now government wants to get involved and those options are gone. I guess the Sisters of Mercy will be put out of "business" with no mercy at all. They will be obsolete under the new healthcare laws.

I wonder how this effects the charities in general. A lot of these charities are ways for mega-rich people to pay less in taxes. Without the need for health charities, the charity market will shrink significantly. We already had a weird form of socialism in place where the top "fed" the bottom, in order to stay on top. Now the tides are turning to the top feeding off the bottom to eliminate it.
