PUB CTF NIGHT: Thursday?

    The point of a pub server is that you dont have to download anything to connect to it. The server does have the 3wave maps but I believe they are disabled....because if you switch to a 3wave map then newbs can't connect.

    The point of promoting quake.intertex.net is to get a pub server going. Trinicom ran a crap mod but it was up for 8 years and was always busy. For quake to be an active game, it needs some active pub ctf servers, as this was historically one of the biggest quake mods. If there is a busy pub ctf server, it will bring more people into quake, and there willl be more people playing 3wave ctf as well.

      For 3wave 3.0+ maps you can always connect to port 26666 on quake.intertex.net, which runs CRCTF3.0 with all 3wave map paks.

      Port 26000 is the public ctf port more geared to pickup games.

      On that note, and as more people are playing nightly, any feedback as to features or changes people would like?
      Some were complaining about too much quad etc..others about certain spawns, some want custom maps.

      I was thinking of the idea for quad, (without trying to change it too much) would be to have only 1 quad respawn every 60 seconds, at any given quad location. This location could be random or sequential. Sequentially though would benifit strategy, while random could make quad a hide and seek game
      For instance, though, on E4M3, (elder god shrine), there are 5 quad locations.
      only one quad could make the game a bit less frag-o-matic....

        It would be nice for the pub port if quad was somewhat random, cause if it's predictable the better more experienced players will horde it, and they really don't need the help. Have quad spawn once every 60 seconds in a random location is my vote. A vote to turn of pent would be nice too

        As for weapons, I would vote for changing the weapon and ammo respawn to half of default.

          I agree with Rook with the random quad. The weapons and ammo are nice though. Makes ammo scarce

              Ctf Thursday

              Great turnout for our second Thursday CTF Night! There were 8 to 10 people for four hours straight! I was having fun and kickn yellows ass, then that 3rd beer kicked in..

              GGS fellas, did anyone get a demo?? Yellow?

                      I couldn't make it, I was doing some work all night. I tried to stop in but was getting cut off because I had a bunch of torrents on and was getting a dropped connection to the server :/ I'll be there next week though

                        cl_autodemo 1 is in my autoexec.bat....my demo folder is over 3 gigs at the moment

                        I was gonna look through the ones from last night and take a good screenshot or two.

                        CTF Thursday was a lot of fun last night, good turnout and a lot of good games. I played for 4 hours in games with 8-12 players, it's been a while since that happened . Weapon stay worked better than I thought it would, and helped level the field for less experienced players.
