Is there any way to get a spectator slot for this (don't know if it's possible with DP)? Or maybe it's being shown as one these live video cast thingumies?

Until Pol gets time to address the spectator questions himself...
I know that a lot of effort went in to providing a spectator port for the recent FFA1RQ tournament, however althought it worked, we didn't feel the result was stable and smooth enough for people to really enjoy the match.

Don't forget that even if there aren't enough slots available to spectate, that's not the end of the story. The demos files will be available after the match and we usually try to put a simple youtube video together so you can click, sit back and enjoy the carnage.
Note to self: finish off the FFA1RQ tournament video as soon as I feel better

[Just in case Spike is listening in...] Have you got anything in your compendious arsenal of Quake tools that might fit the bill?

just tested for fun and i can record with my Darkplaces online-setup at a steady 60+ FPS

so i will be recording my playing at FFA10 for the HD-lovers among us

.

i quite suck though at versus though cuz competitive play isnt my cup of tea,
so my recording will be most likely be full of just getting my ass kicked and over

[Just in case Spike is listening in...] Have you got anything in your compendious arsenal of Quake tools that might fit the bill?

QuakeWorld's QTV system can record+stream games, using a relaying/forking archetecture (essentually multiview demos over tcp, allowing any perspective to be recreated as needed). certain proxies are able to translate the stream into the vanilla network protocols meaning you can watch the game with any nq or qw client, even the vanilla ones.
The catch is that you need to use fteqwsv or mvdsv as a server, which tends to change the game somewhat, at least with default settings.

Of course, you might be better off just using twitch or something, although that takes continued effort from someone instead of being a one-time setup thing (and then everyone else trying to figure out how the heck to actually use the damn thing).

If we get more then 16slots filled then we split the group over the two servers.

If you can't join damage because its full join FFANY.
