Tom and Jerry Censorship

They have been editing things out of Tom and Jerry for probably about the last 20 years, mostly stuff that is considered by many to be racist or discriminatory.

I wish they wouldn't edit that stuff out, but rather "not air" those ones if someone can't deal with it. I hate the edits to Star Wars where it was revised so Han Solo didn't kill Greedo (I think that is the name) in the bar in cold blood (and they added in some stupid looking dinosaurs and some horrible dialogue with Jaba the Hut).

If all TV shows were constantly "revised" to meet current standards, we'd know nothing about the past.

They should at least run a warning "This program has been modified from the original ..." like they do with movies that aren't in the widescreen format.

know what i think is dumb? she complains about a cigarette, and not about the grotesque violence involving human-like cat and mouse characters constantly striving to evicerate the other in the worst ways.

Yeah, they worry about a cigarette impacting kids, meanwhile Tom is trying to put Jerry in a meat-grinder, but gets hit on the head with an anvil because he hit the dog earlier with a baseball bat
