          I've always wondered why they remove so much stuff in retail releases of random video games.

          Here's some more links �on's nostalgia - originals and �on's nostalgia - comparing pre-release vs. retail. The 1st link has some screenshots of early Quake and the 2nd link is a page that compares the pre-release to the retail release.
