but now i see the video from the post...
HAHAHA!
Ok if you don't want to update it then maybe you can help me fix it so it works again.
The problems have come since my move from 32 bit to 64 bit OS.
On compiling I am getting a few errors in world.c with pointers.
world.c: In function SV_TouchLinks:
world.c:267: warning: cast from pointer to integer of different size
world.c: In function SV_ClipToLinks:
world.c:723: warning: cast from pointer to integer of different size
Also in snd_mem.c
snd_mem.c: In function DumpChunks:
snd_mem.c:234: warning: cast from pointer to integer of different size

I have a linux partition, just feel like ubuntu is a kmart version of windows.
I know the backbone though is decades mature. But I havent jumped in to that water , enough to sink or swim...
I do like to play Quake on my days off vs spending all my free time trying to code it

Well if you cant be bothered with all your free time coding 1 function then I guess I won't bother you any more.
I will toss the last shovel of dirt over it and call it a day. This turkey is done so I will stick a fork in it .

My comment was why I hadn't fixed it yet, not my answer to not fixing it.
I have to install 64bit ubuntu on my 64bit machine. As, the 32bit partition on my 32bit machine wont be a valid approach to this. I'm sure there may be other issues that will come out of this... but at least it's a step forward.
(that handle looked like a giant penis i was kinda shocked by wtf that image was before i scrolled down )

Yea I thought someone was transporting the biggest dildo ever created, in the back of their hatchback CRX?
Ok,
installed ubuntu,
installed codeblocks, (created a new project)
installed mesa dev tools,
installed jpeg lib headers,

ok thats great but doesnt contribute to the purpose of the discussion.
Anyways, im not liking the new version of ubuntu that moved everything around and its not very intuitive. (no desktop button)
Then i installed joequake-linux version joequake-gl.glx and message box pops up saying "there is not an application installed to run executable files"
WTF?! anyways if u can point me in a direction to at least get to the stage you are in, i can try to fix these warnings.
