I actually agree. With that being said though, the "big" publishing companies do bother me. When it comes to issues like the Madden/NFL situation. Ive never cared for Madden and I doubt I ever will. But there are literally no options because of EA and the NFL.

But they have published some great games. A few that I really enjoyed.

    Battlefield Bad Company series
    Command and Conquer
    Crysis
    Dead Space 1 and 2
    Dungeon Keeper(loved those games)
    Mass Effect 1 and 2
Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 1997
    Populous
    SimCity
    Half-Life 2

I just played Dead Space 2 for a couple hours. That game is damn spooky. 1 and 2 are great games. As long as the big publishers dont start publishing strictly trash games on strictly consoles, which most people seem to buy. I wont boycott them.
If you see 427 playing Quake thats me.

It did but by the time P3's and ATI RAGE came along it changed. I always liked to play on PC vs console. Last console I owned was a PS1 and I only got at the time to play MK Trilogy.

Been playing it, got pretty far into the invasion so far. It's not bad, some of the mechanics are cool like climbing and sliding, but I am disappointed. The AI is really piss poor compared to the original, and other games in general. I'm playing Post-Human warrior difficulty and it feels like Normal.

The Aliens also aren't that interesting, I was hoping they improved since the first, but they have even worse AI than the humans you fight. They kind of remind me of mechanical versions of the Skaarj from Unreal.

All in all, Its best feature is the somewhat open areas. Most shooters are linear line rides, and I commend Crytek for circumventing that. However, compared to the original game, this game is like being tied to a roller coaster seat.

IMO, better than most FPS games gameplay wise, but MP is a garbage cod-clone, story isn't all that interesting, game is pretty easy. Hopefully it gets harder but for now I am full of disappoint.

Overall, so far I give it a 7.8 out of 10.

When I play the original and compare it, I am forced to give it a 6.5 out of 10 for the overall genericness of the game compared to the first. The Aliens may have sucked in the first, but at least they looked "alien", unlike every game that has bipedal "aliens" that are just bigger humans with a different design.

yes Crysis and Warhead were both very much open-area approach, and Crysis 2 plays more like a Call of Duty, with a storyline and a "Track" for your ride as Bloodshot said. Still yet, its a fn awesome ride!

Yeah, I do like it, I probably would give it an 8.5 if not for the very stupid AI. Somehow, it seems it's one of the few FPSes that has noticeably stupid AI, yet still manages to make them enjoyable to fight.

Figured I'd post this here, as it doesn't really warrant a new thread:
                    Crytek's Official Modding Portal

They're releasing a Crysis 2 editor over the summer AND a free CryENGINE3 for any user.

I will bring Serious Sam to your attention That game has the most basic enemy AI but it's awesome to play.

Well, I meant in the sense that they didn't even react, but it seems to be fixed in later patches, and also, this is what I've been doing while away from Quake editing (which I will be coming back to soon) -
