I heard the Doom soundtrack before I heard the Black Sabbath song. Now when I hear the Sabbath song it sounds "wrong", because it has a few different notes.

Interesting... Nobody mentioned rap metal. Rap metal was a major force in the 90's. Rage Against The Machine started the trend. Then bands, such as LB and LP, carried the torch. Rap metal would have worked for Doom.

John Romero is very influenced in Gothic style, as Doom, Quake, Daikatana have very nice atmosphere.
He have very interesting style, its unique and not repeatable. I love it so much. And sad that he is not part of id Anymore =(.
Daikatana was very impressed me in third episode, some kind of Norway or Dark Ages.
It look very Doom'ish. Well if Romero be a part of id Software, They produce doom3 real sequel to doom.
