Here's me being moralist again but Jhon Kerry (if I need to speak of him again, I'll refer to him as JK) supported Stem Cell research. Scientests aredoing it today anyway, but stem cells come from underdeveloped embreos (thats what sperms turn into, later become humans) which turn into different things like brain cells, nerves, spinal coard tissue, etc (lets hope everyone here knows basic Anotomy)
and these stem cells, as they call them, can be injected into humans (well not yet, but they've had a medical breakthrough where they restored a lab rat's hind leg useage where he was before paralyzed) to repair human desorders like being paralyzed, missing tissue, etc...
Now most people think this is a rather great thing, and it is, if you dont count the fact that these stem cells came from embreos. Now technically humans arent embreos... yet. It's basically the same thing as when there's an abortion, only elerier. Abortion is wrong because you are killing a human. It's out of the embreo stage now, it's not a ball of flesh, depending on the stage of development it's in, it may have a heart (therefore a soul) and a brain (therefore a personality) so if it's in that stage, having an abortion is just like shooting someone in the back of the head with a sawed off shotgun. Just not fully developed yet.
Now assume you decide to have an abortion elerier... It has no brain or heart yet, just a ball of flesh. It's still wrong to kill that, even though it may not have a soul or personality yet. It's wrong because you are killing a human. I realize I said elerier that embreos arent human yet. I'm just proposing different points of view. The stricter, more upstanding point of view is that if you decide to use an embreo for stem cells or having an abortion, it's still wrong because you're killing a human. Even though it's not techncally a human because it's not fully developed yet, it IS a human because it develops into a human.
And that's why Bush is better than JK, in my opinion. Now if someone says something regarding what I said is wrong or how it's ok, that's your opinion. I'm just stating my opinion but I really hope I have changed some minds here. I have nothing more to say.e|------------------------0---------------

I highly recommend we not bring abortion into this as well.
Besides, we can get very good stem cells from other sources, which solves the ethical dilemma and just leaves us with some fine dandy stem cellin to stem onto stuff!
Im yet to find a political candidate who has represented my views more than 10%. I dont think I will.

Politicians are more worried about handing out the pork to the retirement home crowd than concerned about the young (education, jobs, etc.).
And they seem to show near-zero interest in open source and fixing intellectual property law. All of them cater to big corporations -- which isn't all bad --- but that shouldn't be the only thing.Quakeone.com - Being exactly one-half good and one-half evil has advantages. When a portal opens to the antimatter universe, my opposite is just me with a goatee.
So while you guys all have to fight your anti-matter counterparts, me and my evil twin will be drinking a beer laughing at you guys ...

Also Bush supported stem cell research - but only with existing embryos, no future embryos from (still legal) abortions could be used. I guess it works like the immigration thing. By preventing these embryos that are going to waste from actually being used for something that could save lives, it eliminates the draw women have to go get abortions!
