I red a bit of the interview and it brought back some nostalgia. I tried to get into playing again but the engines are to advanced for me now. I have to change all these settings to try to get everything just right and it still isn't set up the way it used to be. So i just deleted it again last month and have no desire to mess with it.
It's cool you're doing interviews though and continuing to keep Quake a live!
Dude I hooked you up and then you quit on me. Same as Lord Ic3s (Jeff) did a few months back. Waste a few hours helping a Quake-Hombre only to find out they are old dogs and can't be botherd to learn new tricks
I apologize for sliding off-topic, but could someone do an interview with Ranger? (Yes, I'm talking about the Quake One hero, Ranger.) If Ranger really existed, what type of questions would you ask him? Picture this... Ranger has just returned home from a tough mission of kicking the Shub's ass. What type of questions would you ask our hero?

So I just finnish reading the entire interview... what a amazing "book".
I'd like to comment just couple of things very quick... it's big enough I don't wan't/need to add much...

To me Ramp's style = Ninja style too for sure so.... so fokin shot behind you hehe (he's best at going back to take you by surprise which he didn't very well vs Wolv when he lost and that was, to me, a horrible match).
I've always said... "A real champ is the one that can beat 2+ (or 1 vs 2+) I already did this if I remember vs Ramp but I propose him, hereby, the challenge to face me and anyone of its choice in a 1 vs 2 CA match (3 matchs 1st to win 2)... I'd be very curious to try/watch that!

Saying that... of course now that I know everything about Ramp it would help me to win a 1 vs 2 hehe... that's the bad side of talking/sharing your little secrets.

Ramp had the greatest influence on my when it's about "psychology"... "No one going to beat me"... fokin no one
I whish I could have play him more to get better and benefit from it's natural willing for analysis/sharing! But I had a good alternative with Sp00n... my trainee (for a while at least).

I must say that to promote Q1 the very biggest problem he pointed out is that "Indivudual (must be) coming together to do something"... I see such talent here and around BUT it's individual most of the time.
Like some of you might know I've been trying many many things to give people a REAL chance to meet but without success... it's not easy for people to get there but it would be the best chance to make it.
If I take the videos I did with some more help the results would have been very different/better.
Just with the help of Ramp for some of these videos it made a very big difference to me... so thanks again Ramp and will play again/more when you retire... at 40 I'd say... hang on!!
When I did s5e4 (with great help from Ramp again) I remember watching the top left corner at around 00:54+ and see what Disco said couple time above concerning a great technic when he can keep the speed but shoot back and not losing speed or tempo...
To really see the top left corner you got to watch the video in FHD (1920x1080) and zoom 300% (for a kind of HD 720p).
I know I'm repeating myself all the time "how to watch a fokin video" here but it was made to be watched like that.
The YouTube video below can be switched to FHD too.
Sure Mark, my cpu sucks .. the video card is some ancient Radeon 9200 and the speed of the computer is a 1.8 GHZ with around 1.5 gb of ram.. I never really bothered upgrading, so it was always good enough for Quake.
I just use GLPRO 3.5.. I don't want Qrack because it will tax my fps.
In reading the interview over, I realize that I didn't cover a lot of peoples names that I have respect for and enjoy playing with, and are great competitors.
Just like to put this out there that I'm sorry if you feel I missed mentioning you, there were a lot of topics to cover
It's been pretty remarkable seeing some of the people that popped up due to this interview coming up, I feel fortunate to be a part of it. Shared a few pms with unspoken as well.. just awesome
I'm trying to remember an old ctf clan, hopefully somebody can help me out. I'm pretty sure bludshed was in this clan, but I can't remember the name of the clan, or who all the other big names that were in it.
Oh, and in my book, the best old school ctfer (slow hook days, i.e., pre 2000) was Cookusbot from Flag! That guy was a beast. I still long for those league of capture days ;(

Yeah, I think it's pulsewidth I'm thinking of. He was really good. Well, pretty much everyone in DO was really good, but pulse was godly. I think they must be nust have been the best q1ctf clan ever.
I think my clan was the best in the pre-2000 slow hook days. But ctf (and quake, in general) evolved a lot after 1999, i.e., the speed of the game increased.
