I just confirmed that GCHQ does not have this problem anymore. What did you do to fix it? Was it a router setting issue as I had suspected?

Jackhammer, we have added the EuroQuake server to the server browser to help assist you with the launch of your new server.

It will be there for 2 weeks and we are going to see what we can figure out with the server browser block. Ideally, we'd like site visitors from Europe to see a list of the European servers in the servers browsers block but we don't have code to support that in place presently.

Created an installer with 136 maps (62 Rocket Arena maps, Jackhammers existing maps + all maps running on any other European server + some others) basically to create a super-set.

Jackhammer can decide what he wants to run and this can be adjusted later.

Download: EuroQuake Server Maps EZ Installer 28.5 MB

            Or

Download: EuroQuake Server Maps Zip File 37.6 MB

Server has now been updated to version 1.2 with new maps plus RA and maps available 130+ in total.
I would like to say a huge personal thanks to RocketGuy and Baker for there help and support if it wasnt for them then the server would not be anywhere near as good as it was or have the options available so thanks guys!

                            Things which are fixed include:

Fov doesnt default to user not 90 when going to observer.
That annoying bind default keys option is removed.

The maps are available from http://www.quakeone.com/index.php?in...le&file_id=137
                            Easy installer

                            or

                            http://www.quakeone.com/index.php?in...le&file_id=138
                            Zip

Have fun, any suggestions post here or MSN me.

Initially the server was behind a simple Cisco firewall and I went through the ball aching process of trying to determine which ports quake was using and trying to open them. No matter what combination of individually selected ports I opened it wasn't playing ball. I'm no quake expert but it seemed as though quake wanted to assign random ports for the various connections.

In the end the server was locked down, given it's very own firewall and placed in a dmz outside of the original firewall's grasp. The replacement firewall allowed you to give a particular application carte blanc to use whatever ports it deemed necessary in what ever way it wanted.

Sir H and Buurvrow very kindly tested it for me remotely and after that it worked.

You know, I'll dig thru the source and find the answer to that. That is something we all need to know to get servers up properly.

The IronRocket incident opened a lot of our eyes to that one and the sheer frustration of that. It was only after this maddening incident, that awareness of this issue arose.

Thanks for that info Mr. Burns, that will help if we ever are dealing with a hosting company that needs instructions if the server has an issue.
