Works. Tested it in IE to make sure it wouldnt think I was logged in.

BTW, I wrote a review of Quake The Offering on Amazon, hopefully it will post within 24 hours. The previous review from 2004 was just... full of crap. It complains about the lack of mods!

As many other games (and videos) Quake is considering a harm for the innocent minds of minors. Thus only adults may buy it and eBay does not do adult-stuff.

Yeah, www.ebay.de is the German ebay. It is somewhat frequented by folks from the neighboring EU states, as well. But IIRC there is also Ebay Austria etc.

Yes, Quake is banned in Germany for ... well I'd have to look it up, but probably something to do with graphic violence, blood and gore, instinctive killing...

In Germany, we have a federal organisation that checks the content of movies, computer games, music CDs etc. for stuff like extreme violence, neo-nazism, sexism etc. and rates them accordingly. Some get banned ("indiziert") and may not be sold to people under 18, I think.

IIRC, Doom and Wolfenstein (that one for obvious reasons) were banned and I remember us in school playing them anyway, so I'm not overly familiar with this "indiziert" stuff, although I'm German. There are "means of getting it", of course.

I do know that the full Quake 4 version ("uncut") is banned in Germany, and there is a German version that is somehow cut (I didn't play Q4, so wouldn't know details.) Q2 was banned, too I think, and Doom 3.

However, the "banning" often has the result of multiplying the sales of the product, and making it increasingly attractive to teenagers. :-)

Doom and Quake were huge underground successes in Germany, of course ;-)

In Germany can't they just recolour the blood to make it acceptable? I.E. to show that the victims aren't exactly human? Or just replace all humans with zombies, which in my opinion is a great idea anyway.
