Direct Shots or Splash Shots

So,what do you strive for the most,Direct shot's or Splash shot's?
I strive for Direct's

I think everyone strives for direct shots, but in the middle of battle, gotta go for splash damage... only smart thing to survive longer

On QTDM3, if it's Yellow No. 5 I go for splash and hope he falls into the void.

Definetly go for splash damage. The changesof hitting someone directly aren'tthat great either. The first rule you learn as a noob is to shoot the ground near your opponent, not directly at your opponent, this way the splash damage will hurt the opponent more often.
