I call it id because of the Freudian term, the lowercase presentation of it, and the lack of periods between the letters.
Baker - Your reasoning doesnt quite work, only because as it is my name, I can say "This is how I spell it and thus when referring to me, this is the correct way" and id can just as well say "This is how it is pronounced by us and being our name when referring to us, this is the correct way." Your analogy reverses those scenarios, its more of a "If I concede the spelling to scar3crow than as recompense I can pronounce id as I please". Do as you wish, it just seems rather inverted to me.
Grim - Point taken. However, Cement Road was named after you knew it as that, it wasnt developed at the time of your naming it. id was called id before we knew of Doom or Quake. You are correct in recalling it as Cement Road, but once again, this seems like an inverse scenario.
