Its just a Mod that adds voting for matches, (like 1-on-1s). It can be set to a default mod, like FFA. You can vote for teamplay and many other things. It is still classic DM, with just voting features and other cool things.

Old skool deathmatch mod, most versatile in existence. BUT ... user-unfriendly as hell in my humble opinion. Type "commands" in the console and you get like 99 items ... not newbie friendly.

Newbie friendly ---> quake.shmack.net:26002 with "vote-match", "vote-ring", "vote-megahealth", "vote-armor", "vote-hook", "vote-teams", etc. etc. Type "commands" in console.

RuneQuake is a misnamed mod because it can be configured for better deathmatch or better rocket arena with any configuration. It is the ultimate mod. Source code is available. (There is a QW source for anyone into that).

screw that then. The only voting system that the original needs is:

1) original Maps
2) bda Maps (needs 100% vote since some people may not have it)
3) toggle runes on/off(haste, regen, resist, power)
4) toggle teams via colour on/off
5) toggle terminator bot on/off (ahhh the good ol days of being pwned)
6) toggle Monsters on/off (monsters appear as if it was 1player but players can still attack each other)(players don't appear at start like in coop)

There's a player on shmack, all he does is drop every rune until he gets Jack-of-all rune. He's very picky.

I'm not that picky but the only runes I really use are:

• Strength
• Jack-of-all Rune
• Deathspots
• Tornado
• Ice Traps
• Armor Piercing
• Zombies on a couple levels

All the rest of the runes are crap IMO. I know lots of players like the Shield rune but I've always gotten screwed with it. I'll use it and then it won't refresh again in time for the next battle since I usually play very aggressively.

Speaking of "toggling", that IHH guy was tormenting me on Shmack again. EVERY time I go on Shmack and start winning, BAM I get called a bot, but IHH enjoys saying that I use "aim-assist". I do not think there has been a time that I have not been called a bot, hack, cheat, etc. I know that I botted twice when I was an hpb, but why can't he just leave me the fuck alone?

Getting seriously harassed by another player who insists you are cheating is part of the game. Flame wars can be fun; sometimes they can get on your nerves. I remember one time where Scoffer was making accusations and I wasn't too happy with it.

I've had some strong players say things to me like "You f***ing cheat" who I repeatedly pounded because I found a hole in their game. This is just more recent stuff.

Funny, players almost never accuse someone of cheating who they are beating.

If you are any good at Quake it is going to happen, some of them are just trying to make you mad.

Is there any way I could enter a command or something to block out IHH's chat? It really ruins my game when I'm always looking over at the bullshit he says.

You ought to be able to type 'con_notifytime 0' to disable all console messages showing up out of the console..

Learning to ignore people who are dicks is part of life. Playing quake does seem to be very good practice for this though doesn't it?

I will try and become skilled in ignoring assholes. It probably will not work too good though.
