      QuakeOne.com -> Downloads -> Clients -> QView

                  Your first post was great because it went a long with what Phenom started and I continued. Now you ruined it by not shutting up on a topic you know nothing about

                  on topic, you should try qstat. It's not hard to use and very effective. It's very obvious that whenever Baker is being pro Qview, I have to blert out that qstat is better

                    QView is a newbie friendly server browser GUI that launches Quake, similar to GameSpy in many ways.

                    QStat is a command line server query tool, it doesn't have a GUI and doesn't start Quake.

                    I have an open mind, but I don't see how anyone looking for QView or a server browser in general would want QStat.

                    I know you've used it for that purpose with Linux.

                      I DO prefer using qstat just because I like the terminal/command line better than a GUI. Also I like to egg ya

                              True, but you can use frontends for qstat. I sometimes use xqf which is a GUI browser using qstat. It will start up quake and supports a lot of different other games.

                              Since it's a linux program it has nice features that you won't find in Windows programs like regular expressions for finding clans and friends etc.

                              I will sometimes use qstat on the command line when I'm playing with this old graphics card. You can start up X without a window manager (frees up some RAM and CPU) for when you want to just play quake.
