        Get VLC. Winamp is great for user-friendliness, but VLC plays ALL filetypes.

              But VLC sucks for listening to music. Foobar is so much better.

                How? I use it for all my listening needs, and it serves me perfectly.

                  I use winamp usually because of the easy playlist, but VLC's ability to play anything is amazing to me.

                    You're a purist then?
                    I would playlists, tagging, replaygain, cuesheet support at least.

                      Does VLC have an option to minimize to system tray instead of always being shown on task bar (I looked but didn't see one)? If not, then WinAmp > VLC

                        I'm sure, and if minimization-location means more to you than the ability to play more than double the filetypes than Winamp, I must beg the question;

                        wtf?!

                        VLC has all of those you've mentioned.

                            Yes that was REALLY me.

                            A few are better than others, the most recent one is a little crappy because I was sick and my voice sounds outrageously deep.
