Ya no kidding. Yesterday I came to ca.quakeone.com and someone told me to CC. I saw that there were 3 blues and 4 reds. But I noticed that blue was pwning so I started my own team. I don't like being in a team with better players but I didn't want to make it 3 on 5 either.

Next thing I know, Yellow calls me a retard and kicks me.

I was also around when Yellow kicked (or banned I don't recall which) a newb I've never seen before because he/she wasn't using the RocketLauncher as their main weapon. That person could have been new to Quake, no need to be so strict.

Why does it matter what weapon you use as your main? And why does it matter what team you join?

I agree. This is bullshit. According to Cookie(Thresher[tu]) Vis told him he 'would abuse his admin powers any way he saw fit.'

I got the boot for spamming once. I was messing with Canadian Snipers Configtalktoggle. I agree I was being annoying but there was no warning, no discussion. Just booted.

And then with what's happened to Cookie it's becoming bullshit. Absolute bullshit. Some of these admins(not all) are power hungry jackasses who should have their admin priveliges taken away.

This is becoming worst than the Lin/Fear fiasco.

Who ever runs that server needs to do something about these admins. Vis all he does is abuse his power. He banned me 3 times. I think who ever runs the server should pick their admins more carefully and not get dumbasses who ban people for joking around.. I wont be supprise if someone goes in there and says Nice shot and vis bans them.

And I might add, Vis isn't a weeny ... he is one of the best players out there, so there is no way he'd ever mistake a legit player for a bot. Just FYI.

Thresher, you might private message Yellow about this (Yellow is a pretty nice guy and talks with Vis occasionally). I've never seen Vis kick anyone who wasn't causing problems, perhaps he had you pegged wrong or something as I've not known you to ever be anything but cool on Bomber.

Do you know how incredibly annoying 3 teams is? If Yellow told you to CC blue and you went green, he was justified in kicking you.

A nice match between 2 teams can get foobar'ed real bad when a 3rd team is added into the mix. A "free agent" player creates all sorts of dilemmas that subtract from 2 team game (do you attack the solo player, risking health? Who do you shoot at when 2 different teams are visible ... it sucks for a match to be turded up a 3rd solo player team that mostly creates a distraction.)

I can understand what you were trying to achieve, but even if Blue was kicking ass, they needed another player and although you may have had the right motive at heart, it doesn't mean that CC'ing (color changing) to green doesn't mess up the flow of the game.

Unless your name is Tical, evening out a team is always the right thing to do when joining an in-progress game (only a disruptively powerful player can singlehandedly truly alter the game balance).

The only way I see a 3rd team being legit is when there's an odd number of players at the beginning of the game, preferrably 5. I'll volunteer to go solo as long as the other four players are okay with that, unless one team thinks they need my help. I would never join in mid-game as a seperate team unless otherwise told to do so.

Dude, I've been kicked from Bomber 3 or 4 times. Don't take it personally.

There aren't many players who haven't been kicked from Bomber at least once or twice. Hell, you'll get kicked from Bomber for being AFK more than a couple of minutes because it increases the number of players that need to type "yes" in the console to force the match.

No ... the being kicked is the only option.

If someone changes color to something that will disturb the balance of the game, kicking them immediately is the best way to keep the game from being disrupted.

See ... what happens is if anyone CC's to whatever color they want, a nice 3 on 3 game with 2 teams will quickly evolve to a game with 5 blue players - 3 red players - 2 green players and 1 yellow player quickly becoming a mess. I've seen it happen and then by the end of the game, it is absolutely pointless and no fun.

What would be BEST is if the team count were LOCKED to whatever the starting number of teams were. But CAx does not presently have that option, so the team preservation has to be enforced by admin'ing, unfortunately.

ASk fuzznut. I was fucking around with him calling him a dumbstick. Fuzz knows im messing around with him. Vis just like to PMS alot i guess. As for him kicking me.. I didnt cause any problemss. I didnt hear 1 person say can you stop that or any of the sort. Vis just has to act like hes cool.. I think that if vis its the admin for time to come. Bomber wont be worth anything. It'll die because he'll eventually ban everyone from bomber because they said "NICE SHOT!"

You have to understand that there are some CA players that are assholes and Vis doesn't take any shit. He doesn't know you from Adam, he sees that and you are going to get kicked until you show some respect.

Don't take it personally, Vis doesn't. There are a number of players Vis has kicked for mouthing off that play regularly at Bomber. He'll kick you until you learn, but he won't take it personally. But he's gonna kick you if you do that.

Well, in a perfect world. But "don't mouth off to the guy who owns the server" and "don't do annoying stuff in-game" are unwritten rules on every server. Yeah sure that won't get you kicked from every server in the world, but that's just common sense.

'Annoying' seems to be a subjective term though. Getting booted for not using RL or joining a 3rd team.
