Fuck, fuck, fuck. I started messing around with RAMdisc software and apprantly boogered my XP install by messing with temp file directory settings. I came home to a bluescreen one day and immediately began the task of putting Windows 7 on my desktop. The only problem is: I forgot to backup my Quake folder. I lost everything Quake-related. Now I have a bunch of shit to dig for. Again. FFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUuuuuuuuuuuu
Depending on where on the disk your Quake files were located, they may still be recoverable. I've used tools to recover files from NTFS and FAT32 partitions after reformatting over them.
