I was playing some games tonight and got the usual bot/hack/whatever accusation, but what was different tonight is that IHATEHUMANS (aka 68%) accused me of cheating.

I play as SNS Mr. Green and -- well -- I used to have a great deal of respect for IHATEHUMANS, someone who in the very early days of ProQuake cheat-free along with Toyo reaffirmed the fact that there were a lot of legitimate players even back in the dark days of cheating.

I find it pretty disappointing that someone who knows from experience that I am a clean player (the overwhelming majority of players are), would make baseless cheating accusations against me at Shmack.

I promised him in game that I'd post the chat log of him being a very poor sport.

IHATEHUMANS/68% does not even use strafing and in the past pretty much limited his cheating accusations to Dolemite/Funkify.

I talked to him in-game about demos and he said "demos don't catch cheating" -- whatever that means. According to him I use some sort of autododge -- haha, well that sure as hell doesn't help me at Rage if such a thing exists.

I had long considered him a friend up to this point, we both admined a TLTQ tournament at Widomaker back a few years ago and we had both played on ProQuake cheat-free in the very early days of ProQuake cheat-free when no exploits had been conceived.

he used to beat me when i first started, then i got considerably better and whooped his ass every time... not that im taking pride in it or anything, but i just got better over time.

at first he seemed content with it, saying about me "girls that play quake good scare me" or something of the sort, which i was cool with...

but then things started getting ugly as he started calling me names and essentially a cheater every time i connect to the server or play.

and stressing what baker said, a player that DOES NOT strafe, can not have any expectations to be on par with a player that uses all that it's available to him/ her (strafing included).

just for fun, one day slug was whiping the server clean, (and slug does better then me) and i asked him if he thinks slug is cheating and why he isnt busting his balls instead of mine lol. of course he kept quiet.

then the other day he came up with another hoarde of shit, now that i was sporting the SNS clan tag, he was saying the SNS clan has an exclusive "cheat/hack". LOL, i mean wtf man, how sadder can u get LOL

i've said this earlier about IHH but i guess it didnt hit home till it happened to my buddy baker.

ihh we expect a public apology (here) or you permanently lost our respect in the community.

I don't care if he apologizes but I think it is very disappointing that he is contributing to making some players feel they are being cheated out of a fair game.

Back a few years ago, IHATEHUMANS was one of the few 50 pingers and as everyone's pings dropped it levelled the playing field.

I think he clearly knows I don't cheat, I think he clearly knows Paradise doesn't cheat. I give him a free pass on the Dolemite thing merely because Dolemite told people "he compiled his own improved Quake" or something like that -- and -- well, I'm sorry but that is a little disconcerting in a way (I doubt Dolemite cheats, but you have to question the wisdom of telling people "you made your own improved Quake")

I play about the best I can play for my skill level. IHATEHUMANS, on the other hand, does NOT. He knows strafing is a fundamental Quake skill. You cannot win against any half-way decent players without strafing. Yet, in all these years he hasn't bothered to learn to strafe and then has the nerve to complain about getting owned.

You can't aim the lightning gun very effectively the way he moves around.

You can't dodge effectively if you don't strafe, he is easy to shaft and is very easy to hit with rockets because his movement is very limited.

But it isn't my fault he doesn't strafe, it's his.

auto-dodging is pretty good but it doesn't top my auto-damage hack that I use according to Surfer Girl. Apparantly when she shoots me my hack limits the amount of damage I take.

But ya I did not know 68% was IHH. Couple days ago he was bitching because me and someone else were leading the scoreboard. I don't remember who else was there but he kept saying we were using aimbots.

This guy must not be very good, Ive apparently fought Baker before (I dont keep up with all these aliases) and faired just fine against him. Thats one thing I like about shmack though, telling you how much health your opponent had left, so you know if you were being effective or not. Very annoying to get into a long duel with Monster and then die, and see he had 3 health left....

I cant think of a time Ive accused people of cheating, but accusations are just as annoying as perpetrators... Then again I dont like taunting or gloating either. I think my policy is just shut the fuck up and play the game.

Troublemakers can leave (a la Jean-Luc), grow up or stop whining. If you run from people that cause problems, you are encouraging and rewarding the behavior and you will always be running.

I show up to play, play an honest game and am pretty much courteous to everyone that plays (that isn't being a jerk, +/- my human flaws) --- why should I alter my behavior for a troublemaker? I won't.
