PowersofPain isn't a typical newbie loading a bot, he's been around for years and plays CRMOD on quake.intertex.net:27000 with Jester and Bishop, usually on toilet4 like someone else pointed out.
In fact, that's why toilet4 is in the QuakeOne map pack
Someone bringing a bot to a public server is annoying and pretty disrepectful to the other players playing, but POP isn't one of those typical newbies that load up a bot and no doubt he's telling the truth when he says he was just doing it for fun.
On the other hand, I don't know why he would have fun at other's expense. Not very cool.

I thought you knew that but thanks for the comments earlier. Quake always has and always will have some sort of hacks, bots or cheats associated with it. I don't care what new mods or clients come out, someone will always be around to find a way to circumvent it. It's been that way with nearly every game especially FPS's. As many people suspect, there are still a number of everyday cheaters that are on crmod, rage, etc. People that you've always suspected but always tried to give the benefit of the doubt to. People you actually respect and claim that they don't cheat. I've got a number of demos chase and eyecamming players where if you replay the demo with a loaded pak2 poles cheat and then watch it, it's a clear cut sign that they were using it. It's quite obvious that there are people that use the pak2 poles cheat on rage if you spent time just observing them you'll find the proof that I have. I even suspect 3 players that use a modified quakebot and limit the aimbot fov to very little to mask it. In all honesty quake has been a slowly dying breed. There have been little spurts of life pushed back into the game with the sensational work of modder's like ROOK, BAM, Rocketguy and Baker to name a few that have done a great job to give the players what they want and to improve upon existing mods and clients. I'm sure if it had not been for them, Quake servers would probably be a thing of the past. Years ago I used to take matches very seriously and used to get into verbal fights with so many people. I look back on those days and laugh as to how idiotic I acted. With the few players that are left it amazes me how immature people can still be with this game. There's always someone who has to complain, or boast that they own everyone or are the best, someone always to talk shit or fight with someone. So many of you need to grow up and treat this for what it is... A GAME. It's not a way of life, it's not the ONLY THING you have left that's great in this world, it's just a game so treat it as such. Have fun with it!
