According to the survey (remember that survey? ), e1m8 was the only map to have more HATE votes than LOVE votes Let's open this discussion so we can find out why e1m8 isn't very likable. I'm guessing it has to do with the altered gravity 100?



Here's a screening question that all of the people filling out the survey had to answer. So it looks like we have a variety of opinions from CAers, RQers, CRMODers, even TFers. Nice balance for opinions so I do not think that there is any bias on e1m8 from the mod of choice

(btw that's an old pic of the data. Plus it's not showing the data from people who didn't complete the survey. There were about 300 that didn't complete the survey by pressing the send button )

I like the idea... but it's just far too floaty, and it's really not connected enough. Far too linear for SP, and you need to get all the way to the bottom to get to the other side in DM...

how the hell are you supposed to quad-hoe ppl if you take damage from lava,and if u DO get the pent,by the time you've grabbed the quad everyones already heard/seen the screen text saying "RUN AND HIDE"

You can tell I've never DMed on e1m8, can't you...

On the subject of low gravity, there's a trick that you can use to have just a certain area of the map affected by the low gravity. If you set .gravity on an entity to below 1, that entity will be affected by less gravity. 0.125 would be equivalent to 100, but you might want to start at 0.2 (160) because then it will be less annoying. You probably know this trick already though...
