        e1m8 was made by American McGee inspired by the Mayan and Aztec influences in the early stages of Quake. Originally it was more lava oriented, but playtesters complained about it being too hard, so he put in more walkways.

        I like e1m8, not the best map for deathmatch, but its different, and if you cant handle a change of scenery, or gravity, every now and then... youre just missing out on a whole lot of Quake =)

          ahhhhh ziggurat vertigo, i remember now, you had to press the two switches in e1m4 then go back and swim though the hole.

          one thing to remember.... kill all enemys on e1m4 then go back to the enterance to e1m8 or you wont get all kills :d

            I loved e1m8 personally.

            It was the only map that would scare people away who were annoying on some of the servers I used to play on.

            It did suck pretty bad with less than 6 or 7 players on a no timelimit server though....

              A long time ago e1m8 was actually my favorite level. I ended up changing my favorite to the Elder God Shrine when I found out that so many people hated e1m8 and that it never got played.

                  Same here. I really enjoy Wind Tunnels and have no idea why everyone else seems to hate it.

                  I wonder what they think about E3M3, The Tomb Of Terror. That's one that I absolutely hate.

                    Back on topic. Judging by how people have responded to this thread, I'm not going to make any changes to the map's physics in the whitehot mod. If people don't like it then they don't have to play in it but I've been getting tons of messages from people telling me to keep it how it is. Case closed and thanks for your opinion
