Not an easy task to know where to draw the line all the time. Anyway, I agree.

Mindz may be an asshole, but he's OUR asshole. :d

You can count on him to be honest, follow thru, believe in the Quake religion and find mp3s if you need 'em :d

Joking aside, those of us who know who helped build the house know Mindzy has easily paid his dues. He is a large part of why this site even exists and has helped get a lot of things started on countless occasions.

That's kind of the point of Quake Radio. I mean I got it that noone cares about the music so what else is there but the speech part?

I guess you can't please everyone. Someone asks for another broadcast, someone makes it, and everyone goes apeshit over it.

Well, I guess I'll write up the end of this thread-

I don't intend to make any more Qradios. I didn't even really intend to make this one, but a few people asked me to do one so I went ahead with it.

I've established that I'm unwanted, and that frankly the community as it is isn't particularly something I'd like to be a part of. I guess I'll have to consider this my final post. Don't expect me to make any more cameos.

Mindz, I hope you're happy, because you've managed to drive off someone who until very recently cared a great deal about the quake community, regardless of what you had to say about him.

And Baker, I don't agree with everything you've said, and for the most part your methods. It's taken me a great while to get to know you and understand the way you do things, but I'll leave it at the fact that we have different beliefs. Good luck to you and the rest of the Quakeone staff.

Finally, if you want to contact me, all of my information is listed on my profile.

        See ya-

Sorry Baker, I'm reopening this because I haven't seen this till tonight.

It's easy to rant from the "outside" but if you truly want to make a point, why not offer up solutions to the problems? Why not volunteer ideas, suggestions, or even your own services to make what you see is wrong turn in the right direction? Anyone can say "you admins suck, hire more help" or something like that. If you are really that concerned about the community, why are you not trying to make it better?

Where are all these people that Bank said were turned off by Quake because of these forums? I think I've seen one posting or comment on IRC regarding the idiots flaming on the boards. Bank made it sound like an entire generation of new players are turned off when in fact it's probably one or two individuals.

Oh well, to each his own.

Touche Sole. Sorry but in the last few months I've seen more content and less bickering. Granted some lame posts but not as many as before. Keep up the good work.

Qradio seems to do nothing lately but cause anger and controversy amongst our members.

...looks like its time for me to step back in the ring.

i know ive said it many times before, but...

Substitute the word "Qradio" with the name of the protagonist in this thread and you have a more true statement.

There wasn't any deep thinking in the complaints made, and along the theme of what Sole said, no solutions were proposed anyway.

also, substitute "does nothing" with "almost nothing". there are, of course, the handful of faithful listeners such as yourself. and the handful of Bank asskissers...you all know who you are.

This is pretty ignorant. The last Bank Qradio wasn't great I'll tell you that but that doesn't make the entire Qradio series crap. Just goes to show you how fragile you are

who, me? i didn't say the whole series was crap. i said that lately, as in within the past....oh, month or so, has been riling people up a little more than usual. and im not talking about just Bank's Qradio. Quad's last one apparently didnt sit right with folks either.

You can't please anyone on these forums, that's for sure.

Noone liked mine because I really didn't care about anything that was going on in the forums, so I just briefly mentioned them and then Mindz went nuts over something Baker did that I didn't mention in the broadcast. And my radios have always been more for the music since every time I make one someone likes to laugh at my accent or pronunciation, so once again someone else complained that I had too much music on it too (My radios normally have 5 songs on them, sometimes more).

"I'm done with Qradio's,becuz the last 2 released by Bank and Quad was blah blah blah~~~~~blah with nothing really relative in a news fashion." - Mindz

Whatever I actually talk about is really what's recently going on in the forums (as in, the very top of the list of topics). And if that's not considered news or to your liking then maybe you should record one of these and try to please everyone.

no, i fully agree with you, Quad. it is my opinion that the forums are going downhill. we have fewer active, posting members than we did back in the glory days of 2006. everything now-a-day seems to be about Clan Arena and hardcore competition which is something i dont really dig at all. Clan Arena was fun for me for about 3 months, if that. It just seems to me that lately, if you dont play Clan Arena or you aren't in the know about the latest Clan Arena goings-on, you arent "cool". there was a thread put out that was all about "you know you're a noob if..." and one of the things was "if Runequake is your favorite mod." well, fuck you. i happen to like Runequake. i think its a lot of fun, which is really all i give half a damn about. i played Quake to have fun, socialize with my old Quake buddies, and maybe relieve a little stress. not for competition. this is why i havent been playing the past 6 months, cause i dont really care about Clan Arena anymore, and thats pretty much all that anyone plays now.

The forums are less active than last year. That's to be expected.

                                1. The site was brand new

                                2. It was the 10th Anniversary of Quake, so Quake received more attention

                                3. Some of the communities were discovering each other and learning about each other. None of the modders knew "us" or that "we" existed, we didn't know the modders, some of the mapping community stopped in to say "hi" and discuss single player, we didn't know the modders, the Quakeworld guys, of course, wondered why we played "NetQuake", heh.

                                4. There doesn't seem to be much going on in the single player front, so this leads to a lack of diversity in conversation.

There is a very strong undercurrent of change going on right now that is not really visible to the casual observer. To me it, feels far stronger than anything I've felt in 2006. Things are starting to come together behind the scenes, in my opinion, in a "the calm before the storm" kind of way.

everything now-a-day seems to be about Clan Arena and hardcore competition which is something i dont really dig at all.
Hardcore competition is something important, but I myself really have limited interest in it. There does need to be more diversity and there will be.

that was all about "you know you're a noob if..." and one of the things was "if Runequake is your favorite mod." well, fuck you. i happen to like Runequake.
I agree. I think RuneQuake is very fun.

I guess I play a lot more Clan Arena because ...

                                1. I get tired of the 7 or 8 super-noobs that always seem be around at Shmack calling me a bot/hack/cheat at Shmack, it is as if no amount of playing experience ever improves their skills, sheesh.

                                2. Clan Arena is being very actively developed right now.

                                3. Most of the players I like to play with, play CA.
