Wow that's nice, but did he kill the 1st shambler he saw? I thought he left the map before it died? I'd have to play that map 1000 times before i could even break the 2 minute mark goods job!
@peg: Slugnut can have his forum rank changed. Change to "I own you all" jk it's slugnut's decision. Slugnut told me that he did it for the pure thrill of speedrunning.
@rook: There are two shamblers in e3m2. One in the pit and out that teleports above the pit once you kill the first shambler.
i have to admit that this challenge is absurd, no offence to CS, but have u actually attempted and completed this challenge?
the only server working for me was whitehot on which i ping 100 and im sliding and the zombies head butt me and i die in one shot, what is that?!
i was mad at first, if u create a challenge why not make it a tad easier so many can participate, if i couldnt get past the first hallway with the zombies i can imagine the more newbies on this site how they did, esp. with that 100 ping!
but i did not totally gave up. i created my own challenge, i speedrun-ed the level offline (on normal difficulty) and i finished in 3:20 using no particular strategy killing all monsters and finding all secrets. can u beat that?
let's keep the contest going, if u cant do it online with the 100 ping and u die if 1 monster touch u, play it offline and post your demo.
if u have a demo and dont want to create an account there, zip and mail it to me at [email protected] and I will post it under my account with your name.
i hope u like my demo, i move and shoot extremely fast, so the time to beat is mine 3:20
if u can beat slugnuts 1:17 on the 100ping server and one touch monster death then all the better, it was a truly awesome run. esp. that grenade jump.
i dont mean to steal his sunshine but few of us are good in that respect, we are all talented but in diff ways, esp. when it comes to Quake so if u cant do it then that doesnt mean to give up, do it your way (or mine) and keep the contest going, as it is officially over anyway according to CS, keep it going for fun.
The QuakeOne challenges have always been somewhat difficult and there's always been some guy who makes it look easy. So my goal for each one is the make them harder and harder to see if people can break the record.
As for the question if I've beaten the challenge myself. No I haven't. My best run was when I was fighting the shambler and the game went to intermission because the 2 minute limit was up.
