Should Disco be permabanned from QuakeOne servers?

Yellow banned eieio when he was merely trying to illustrate how lame disco's shit is. Why ban eieio and not disco, when they were doing the same thing?

Like 5 people said something to me now about banning eieio. I neither kicked nor banned him. He was on the server complaining and arguing with people in a drunken state for about 30 minutes then left. The mod may have kicked him for being afk. When it does that it says "you have been kicked by an admin. you were kicked for being afk too long" or something. I've been meaning to ask r00k to fix that. Actually I did a condump of his odd behavior even before he left, I'll post it later when I clean out the junk

Then how do you propose that people deal with troublemakers when the admins won't do anything about it? A solution needs to be made, because this situation is ridiculous.

Does anyone realize that people are constantly complaining about too much admining, not admining enough, pldown on/off/too many/too few, map etc?

Rage is setup for the people who actually show up and play the most. Dm3 has never been my favorite map, nor do I like pldown. But majority generally rules. So if you don't like the way rage is setup/ran, but you don't spend any time on the server and wouldn't even if it was setup to your stated liking, your opinion doesn't carry any weight. Also, opinions are going to differ but someone has to be in charge and make decisions and try to make the server runs smoothly. Generally this means spending time dealing with peoples drunken bullshit (see above). So complain about me if that helps you deal with your life, I'm a big kid now so it doesn't bother me .

As for rockstar, he does seem to really enjoy fucking with people on the server. I banned him for a week and he agreed to change his ways. Apparently I forgot to mention he needs to behave even when no admin is present. Everyone talks shit, but things like intentionally ruining the teams, creating green team which no on likes because you can't see it, hiding for 5 minutes mean that no one on the server has any fun but the asshole doing these things.

Btw monkey..about the poll, most of the people on the forums don't play on rage, and vice versa, so whatever you get here isn't a clear picture. You can always do an open poll which shows who votes for what.

In other rage news, there haven't been many admins around so I gave sunshine admin. Let me know how he does

Camping is a part of this game. Widomaker tried to prohibit camping, but that ultimately failed. Camping is, was, and always will be a part of every single FPS.

As for not being able to see green, deal with it. Camoing is also a strategy, PlayeR aka mark does it all the time in RA. If he wants to be against everyone else on the server by doing 1v4v4, he will just get owned anyway, and it doesn't have much affect on the game.

Rage doesn't suck, its admin's skills suck.

Don't use axe, shotgun, super shotgun, nail gun. Only grenades rockets and lightning gun and don't camp, don't use the color green or its a ban.

If people who admin CAX servers don't want to deal with all the normal Quake things then take the CAX source code, and make that stuff unavailable in your own version of CAX, don't ban people and act like its your only options. thats just poor couping skills.

BTW banning is stupid in the first place unless its necessary.. thats why people love me aa an admin (not everyone so if you don't you can just stfu ) but because I'm a normal person to everyone else on the server, I don't care if someone shit talks or wants to play a certain way, its a online game and you are playing with unpredictable real players... if you want a scripted game play single player and get the fuck off the online servers if your going to bitch when someone uses a shotgun instead of being a 1 skill type of player.

Bitching about admining at rage in every (unrelated)thread is not cool. I dont play at rage, not because of admins, but because I do not like the mod. If players have issues with admins just DONT PLAY at the server. Thats what I did when Yugo banned me from ihoc. Its been years since I played there. and I think i'm probably still banned. I dont goto his forums and flood every thread with negative comments, because there are many other servers. Lowering the quality of quakeone forum threads will drive new players away. Admins know their place.... players should too.
If anything I would praise admins like slotzero, yellow, baker, pita, steve and others for PROVIDING a place to battle in honour.

Incessant complaining never achieves anything except to make the complainer look bad. It's self-sabotage of the worst kind.

At the end of the day, no one cares what they read in a forum if they like playing on a server.

Everyone already knows enough about Rage to have an opinion one way or another. No one makes anyone play there.

(Case in point, when chi.nailed.org went down, some of those players complained about the splash damage at Rage like Omicron and constantly complained about it: Did anyone stop playing because of what Omicron and others said: no. Enough said.

Omicron and those other players could have chose to connect ca.clanhdz.com and play CA+ -- the mod they liked -- and it was even on the same box but they would rather complain at Rage than drum up activity at a server with the settings they liked.)

even when I was paying for bomber.ironrocket.com I wasn't a power hungry admin because throwing power around is lame shit.

Yellow also forgot who help'd him get rage populated and help'd develop the mod he loves so much... but anyway... I've been admin of lots of servers, not all Quake or game related but as an admin of a game server your job isn't to tell someone how to have fun but make a fun experience for everyone the best you can even if you have to sacrifice your own.

I give yellow credit for one thing. He plays DM3 like its crack. he keeps players on his server at his own expense of wanting to play other maps even custom maps he even claimed to agree that DM3 is boring/lame(one of the two) but he does it for everyone who faithfully plays at Rage and chooses not to play other servers or other maps for that matter.

Yellow No.5 and me have gone back and forth about servers ect, his complaint is always that he doesn't like how I play and I annoy him. my complaint with him would be how he gets a power-rush form being a admin.

in the end its not who has the best attitude, its who has the best server. So I guess Baker, Hydro and a couple others are right about me, I do argue when I see something I don't like. especially if its something I know can be fixed. Oh well.. thats just who I am.
