Hi there,
I started a new project called "FreeQuake". Not the first attempt, you might say - but I'm pretty far with recreating a (ID)free Quake one with free replacements.
Engine, maps, textures and some sounds and models are already found, but lots of models are still missing!
So, if you got something on your harddisk that can help the project to complete or got time to contribute:

First full version of FreeQuake online!

Well, almost full - Deathmatch Levels are included and every needed model/sound is included. Bundled with darkplaces engine.
Just download, unrar and give it a try.
More maps and stuff are also available @
http://www.freequake.net

Note:
Many Singleplayer Maps are already finished, but some models are still missing.

You can download the Singleplayer maps from my side, but they are not fully playable cos some monstermodels are missing in freequake - like enforcer, hellknight... These models are only in the full registered version of quake, so even with the shareware pak there will be some missing characters
But-dont worry- the project is just a few days online, I think I will find some nice replacements

You can use Orgo's monster skins which Gunter modififed. Includes every monster, including Chthon and Shub.

Yes, DM Maps are redone and free. All models for Deathmatch are included.
Only some Models for SINGEPLAYER are missing.
Deathmatch is complete!
