    rq is not a joke, and yes stab yourself with that spork while you're at it and you might as well leave quake as u dont deserve it anyway, an ignorant player that detests a mod, is the worst player to have around.

    i dont like ca but i do come and play when shmack is empty, to me it is un-exciting, repetitive and dry - keep playing that dm3 until u die. im not stellar at ca but i do stay and play.

    die a lot? thats just shows ur a newbie at the mod. before u insult it, consider getting good at it. i rarely die. if there is a bomb or kamikaze rune, find cover. for death spots and ice, with attentiveness they can be avoided, radiation can be countered with vengence rune - your opponent receives the same damage as you, etc, it is a very creative and fun mod yet a little complicated mod because of all its intricacies (complexity).

    and rampage do not piss me off as i will come to that server and draw people out and advertise shamelessly runequake everywhere just like you advertise your ctf.

    and believe it runequake has much more players then ctf. i am willing to learn and play it because im open minded.

    revive your ctf, i have nothing against that, but do not talk negatively about the mod I play, because that just shows u are ignorant.

    i hope i did not type all this in vain, and if u dont understand then i feel sorry for u.

      You can like runequake all you want, I don't. Finding cover is NOT easy when some noob grabs the kamakazi rune and explodes in an open area on a very open map (E1M7 anyone? Yeah, btw, that noob map gets played probably 100 times a day on that server, along with start, and dm4. The king of the spam maps).

        I like RuneQuake on the larger maps.

        The "spam maps" like START and E1M7 are a monotonous spamfest and I can't stand playing them.

        Nothing beats playing RQ on E4Mx maps with a few skilled players participating, but nothing is as terrible playing start and e1m7 in RQ.

          With RQ, it's expected that you die suddenly, even after you learned: not to run into teleports much, every single rune sound (check my RQ Guide for info), every new weapon sound, and how to hookshot effectively. However, like vanilla dm, dying in RQ isn't a huge loss as it is with RA or CA. I think that also cheapens the reward of killing someone who is even or better in skill, but it hardly takes long to come across that person again for another battle. RQ is a very aggressive and demanding mod, so I can't blame them for giving up...

            So.. to sum it up, everything I just read said "Accept my opinion, otherwise, you're ignorant". If you are as open as you are you would understand where I'm coming from or try to see the reasoning behind it.

            Every mod has an objective, does runequake? No.

            CTF = capture the flag
            DM displays map knowledge, skill, and teamplay, timing of weapons, and positioning
            CA = teamplay, skill, differentiation and variations in playing styles
            Runequake = a bunch of randomly generated runes, and newbies running around the map spamming one another with madness.

            I'm not asking you to accept my opinion, I'm not forcing it upon you, I'm stating this is how I VIEW runequake, regardless of whether you agree or disagree with me the mod is still trash.

            Granted, CA has its share of newbs, and so does every other mod, I'd just rather know I didn't just get killed by a shambler, but rather by a skilled player.

              Runequake seems like an expansion pack for quake that id software would make a fortune off of.

              CTF was very popular when I was getting back into quake around 2k. Trinicom is usually full. I'd have to check it periodically to see if there was an opening on it. It was good fun and probably just as crazy as runequake because trinicom was usually playing on the quad shrine map. That or e1m2 . 8 vs 8 with quads and hook everywhere, oh my

                    It sometimes looks like that and on start and e1m7 that description is almost literally true (I despise those maps).

                    But on larger maps, there is a large amount of strategy involved.

                    Think of it as a faster paced and more exciting free-for-all deathmatch that gives newbies something to distract them from how badly they are getting slaughtered.

                    Bad RQ certainly is lame, but that's not the full picture.

                      well despite some arguments here.

                      i dont die that often, i finish start/ e1m7 under 9 mins. rq is not a trash mod, u just cant handle its complexity and u can turn the randonmness that u mention to your advantage (if u know how).

                      so yes, what u said, just reinforces my point that rq is actually the most evolved mod out there and the pinnacle of all mods. actually the rq mod contains all the objectives of the other mods u mentioned. it is obvious u cannot handle all of them at once being thrown at u (no insult intended).

                          If you see my reasoning, I dont play it because its trash, not because I'm bad at it.

                          Don't overextend your confidence just because you're beating up on Quaker Oats and Fuzznut, I bet you will barely reach a frag or two with me cata spoon tical tv, let alone the mid-tier CA players. Which again shows your one dimensional RQ talent.

                          Step outside the realm, come for a CTF match on sunday see what happens when you play a real mod with an OBJECTIVE, not one where you just got a rune which lets you breathe ass acid onto your opponents.

                          Oh, you can turn randomness into your advantage? interesting, tell me how oh great wizard of Oz? because if its random, you shouldn't know when its going to happen..

                                Paradise is not in Spoon's league or yours or Catalysque's, but if you think she's never played CA or is not as skilled as a mid-tier CA player you are silly. She likes to DM 1 on 1 on DM6, but won't win against the elite.

                                How can you have such strong opinions on things like mods you do not play and player's you do not know?

                                I think this is as silly as ignorant Quakeworld players that think NetQuake sucks and lags because they tell each other that, yet have never played it and can't name a NQ engine.
