Happy New Year... here's your last chance. Don't come on the forums and post trash talk in multiple threads which have nothing to do with your talk. Keep discussions on topic and don't randomly post flames all over the place and you'll be fine.

I'm not here to be the best, but I will make every attempt at getting (near) that level. Whenever I play with music on or super-stoned there is at least 2 people on any given server that will trash talk me.

So for all intents and purposes if I can't have an enjoyable relaxing game stoned where I'm not trying to be the best, I am going to be super-competitive because apparently that's all I can be without some newbie shuffling in to take my spot as the "better player" when in reality no one here is dynamic enough to play RQ, CA, CTF, RA and DM AND be top 6-8 material in any given mod on a weak laptop hardware setup. That is in fact your weakness, none of you can break out and enjoy quake as a whole, you just stick to your shitty little mods. I'm not trying to put myself on a pedestal, I'm just saying none of these "better players" are in fact better players, they are weak players who enjoy 1 shitty little mod niche mod.

RQ has its fun points:
-relaxing
-easy to frag noobs
-fun to collect 16 runes with pack rat
-easy to enjoy with music / and or stoned

but of course we all know its downsides

CA is not skill intensive at all and I don't think ANYONE recognizes it as a "real mod" and more as target practice. But it can be fun and relaxing as well.

RA can be incredibly fun and skill intensive but gets very tedious.

DM is insanely fun and requires TRUE skill but the competitive nature keeps newbies out and keeps them from playing in games.

CTF is no longer played which is unfortunate, it is the most fun mod there is left. CTF players combine the skills of all of the above.

Being skilled and shittalking to the extent that you get banned from almost every server and the Quakeone.com forums atleast once are two different things Omicron Happy newyear!

Not so true. The reason the newer players don't dm is because when they do connect, and attempt to play/learn, most the dm'ers just talk shit to them and it makes them not want to comeback. That's the majority of the reason you don't see more dm'ers around.

CR-MODs have different MODES, NORMAL - PRACTICE - INDIVIDUAL - MATCH.....

CTF.QUAKEONE.COM is locked in NORMAL (classic 3wave 2.0) mode which was PRE custom models/sounds etc (pickup server)

CRCTF.CLANHDZ.com is locked in MATCH mode (3wave 3.0+ compatible) plus all that ClanRing brings (stats/timer/etc)....

Adding a bellyhook to NORMAL mode isnt an abomination of the entire mod if it's geared to pickup games ONLY thus allowing RuneQuaker's a chance to play using a hook that they are used to. Sure the bellyhook (off hand hook) is less skilled but the majority of those who would use it are less adept at ctf. I'm not a huge fan of the offhanded hook myself but to call the mod crippled because there are players who requested the bellyhook is just closed minded. Heck most DM players wont play CTF simply because there IS a hook. So, if BlackKnight-DY calls ctf a complete abomination of Quake because there's a hook should I listen to him and remove the hook altogether??

i dont play dm because the few times i see people on a dm server, i connect, and 2 of them are playing and 6 of them are watching, and no one wants to let a new player in

Stop talking out of your ass frenzy. I know you speak from "past experience" but you DO NOT play with us and you are making stupid generalizations. We are very helpful & nice to the new guys because we know if they learn we'll have more people to play with, they also allow us to have 4v4s even though everyone isn't amazing.

It's no generalization, it's simply a fact. The DM community doesn't have the patience for new players as a whole. There may be some that are nice (and believe me, you aren't one of them) to new players, but the majority is not. This is a fact.

Again, you are talking out of your ass. I am someone who TGs daily with the "crew" and you have been absent from quake and have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

1) you do not play dm with "us"
2) speak for yourself - we play daily and almost no one has a problem with me, again you're talking out of your ass. it seems you can't formulate thought without broadly generalizing 1 or 2 people's opinions. the misconception that i'm hated by everyone is perpetrated by idiots like you that can't understand every individual feels differently.
3) telling you that you're "talking out of your ass" is not an insult when you are, in fact, talking out of your ass.
4) we have been encouraging of new players as of late. i don't mean total newbies because they do not belong in dm and they're not going to do well. i mean people who make the switch from the weaker mods (ca, etc.) to dm. i have yet to see people talk trash to newcomers, you don't know what you're talking about.
5) no you do not "par well" in dm. don't make me laugh frenzy. come play with us and get stomped but stop spreading around about your "mad skrillz" when you don't even make your typical paltry appearance.
