Omi complaining about personal attacks is like barry bonds complaining about steroids. Omi, no I don't exactly know you very well. But I have honestly you around server alot of times. And yeah, sometimes you are completely fine and there's no need for muting or kicking of any sort. But more times than not, you've been the disruption and you've been the one launching personal attacks. Also, I would put forth that your attitude and personal attacks on people at servers is just as likely to push people away from quake1 as admin abuse. And if our admin abuse pushes anyone away, it'll be the so-called victims such as yourself. Believe me, you wouldn't be missed.

Again, who do you think you are speaking for? There are plenty of people who would miss me from quake 1. I would put money on that right now (and win). Even the dude being a prick and abusing admin on me (jokingly) said he would miss me, and earlier on this thread, baker who is a guy who would probably have every reason in the world not to like me said he has taken a liking to me. Tim (cata) if he still played, would probably miss me, stung, tical, drama, maybe tal, goblin, there are plenty of people. I really don't know everyone who likes me or secretly likes me but I know there's enough to not make stupid statements like you won't be missed, which is being used as a justification for recent overmoderation of the server. Part of what made speaknow different from Rage and a fun server to play on was not having to deal with this shit. Who are you moderating the server for anyways, the nonexistant 13 year olds playing with their parents permission?

Besides if you start enforcing rules like that you won't get brilliant statements like
"i'm glad we gave gave you guys smallpox blankets", "tunda I am going to piss on your sacred ancestral bamboo shrine", "go back to your 3rd shift job", etc. i've forgotten all of my funny ass quotes in the 50000 online arguments ive been apart of. i know some of them have been fun and hilarious as hell though, including for the people watching.

I'm not saying Omicron is wrong & I'm not saying Yeller or Dread were wrong but instead of whining like kids why not try to solve this problem?

Omicron, Obviously Dreadful, Yellow no.5 & Sunshine all 3 pay for Speaknow, so I seriously doubt you will get any slack from them.

To the admins of Speaknow, I would expect you to deal with a little more bullshit since you have taken it upon yourself to become the admins of the server and be able to accept a little extra crap being thrown at you from players ... After all,,, you will hear the majority of the complaints about the players/servers you admin.

Omicron has definitely changed his attitude and if you think this is him being "bad" then you would cry if you seen how he use to be. . Omicron might not be the friendliest player on any given server but at least to me, he has changed his attitude.

Omicron, I did notice how Yellow no.5 quickly became an admin of Speaknow and I can understand why, to him he helps run the servers to the best of his knowledge.

I personally don't think admin should be used as a toy to be used at the admin's discretion. If its for personal amusement or not, I didn't see anyone in that log mention mute'ing 'kicking Omicron until Y5 brought it up.

But in the end "He who pays for the server, makes the server rules"

On my experience playing, joking around with Omi makes the game more enjoyable. I pulled a few jokes about my "shaft not working correctly" (since I have a tough time using the lightning gun) and Omi didn't have a problem with me the rest of the time. I did note that he started to target some of the other players, though.

So when you get on enjoy the game, don't worry what people say, and just play.

If you don't like the way Yellow, Dread, or anyone else moderates a server, then don't play there? If you have problems with certain people, then ignore them and just play the game instead of talking shit back to them?

If you don't like the way a server is run, then open up your wallet and buy your own server and run it the way you want to run it. No one is forcing you to play at one single server. If you don't like it, do something constructive about it rather than posting your ranting bullshit on the forum!

Don't pay for a server just so you can abuse power.. that seems to be the underlying intention here

What this all boils down to is treating people with common courtesy and decency. I'll retract what I previously said about banning omi on sight. I'll agree with phenom that it seemed he had changed his attitude lately. And regardless of who started what last night, I saw omi up to his old tricks. Maybe what he was saying was the only thing catching my attention because of his history of personal attacks. I don't pay for the server and I'm not doing any of this as a power trip. My only interests are in people treating each other with respect. If y5 or dread or sunshine instigate an argument with omi I can't exactly mute or ban them since it's their server. As I previously said, excessive shit talk and personal attacks are just as likely to push people away from quake because who honestly wants to deal with it?

I'll stick to the mute button. And if someone gets muted and keeps reconnecting or trying to get around it for the purpose of continuing an argument or shit talk, THEN banning will most definitely be on the table.
