Whos the Best Active CA player?

Just curious. give a top 5 in order. I will take the top 5 most posted responses and have a poll on whos the best. So we can statistically narrow it down to the player with the most votes.

Its so hard to tell these days because everyone has 10 diff aliases and people use their real names too.

While there are some really awesome CA players my hat goes off for Rampage. He's very efficient in his own playing style, I haven't seen him ruin a game on purpose, he did get flooded earlier when we were playing but thats not his fault.

Anyway, ya Ramp, hes one of the best all around CA players I've ran into as of lately

The best one is one with the best attitude. Anybody can advance into skill if they go for it, what is into the soul and heart can never change.

I recall this terrible skill-wise player from RuneQuake - well at first - then he became awesome for his ping by the name of Apple.

He was playing with 350 ping and almost never scored a point, he even had -1 when the map finished. Yet he never gave up, was discouraged and kept playing.

I had a 1v1 match with him and he never said anything negative to me unlike others who come closer to my score. He even greets me everytime he connects! How awesome is that! Later he got much better and got up to 25 per game - a huge accomplishment for him, Bravo!

Skilled assholes are forgotten as nobody wants to put up with their cocky obnoxious attitude, no matter how good they are. Nobody wants to have it rubbed into their faces how much they suck - according to these lamers.

The negative always gets casted out of the mind as nobody wants to think of it, therefore it will be expelled no matter who it is associated with.

I will always remember the kind players: Apple, Zeki, Quadraptor, Kermit, Fuzznut, Dyne, Hat and Lefty.

They may not have been the best skill-wise, they sure were FUN to play against without worrying of how they react when you get them.

Lastly, Slugnut wins the cake as you feel at ease fighting him and you can focus onto the game played at hand against an awesome opponent without any constant demoralization and bullshit talk occuring. Oh yes, did I mention he is also fantastic skill-wise? Yes he is!

I'm not trying to be a a-hole, but why does anyone even care?? Quake is such an old game that everyone should be playing for fun by now. 90% of the real competition has left for other games/lives. I've played many games and Quake continues to be the most unfriendly game by far. If you ever expect Quake to regain popularity you can't call every new player a newb/scrub when they join. It doesn't work that way.

Well, there may not be santuary for assholes much longer. I'm not going to explain more (*cough* universal id */cough*).

Server operators just need to say enough is enough, take the 5 biggest assholes and make examples of them and get them permabanned from every server.

Then if other would like to join that club, they can.

If a player has a net negative value in that they chase away newbies, I don't think it is hard to decide we'd rather have the 5 newbies than 1 or 2 ****** losers that ruins the environment.

Remember, there are certain people that pay for the servers. He who has the gold makes the rules.

I'm definitely with baker on this one. I'm all for permabanning those who do nothing but reduce this game to a war of insults. I won't name names here but Baker if you're interested PM me and I'll gladly let you know my opinions on the worst offenders.

Something like this is a long time coming. I recently started playing call of duty 4 online alot and on the majority of servers I've joined, it is stated in text every minute or so that racial or offensive comments of any kind will get you banned. And I haven't seen ANYTHING in cod4 that even comes close to the kind of crap people have to put up with in quake. I wonder why when I get the urge to play something online lately I load up cod4 and not quake... it's because this community tolerates that kind of bullshit. Then when someone tries to do something about it, someone starts a post here and everyone gets all up in arms about getting kicked and plays the victim and generates sympathy from people who weren't even there to witness the events.

This game can still be very fun sometimes or else I wouldn't bother ever trying to play or write this reply right now. It's high time for a change in attitude policy. What will be accepted and what will get you banned. Hell, I think when frenzy got his buddy to play this he put up a post asking people to be nice if I remember correctly? Should that be necessary? I think not.

Funny, how I mentioned banning from the servers into my other thread - about me being good at Quake - started by Omicron.

I am definitely for it. This fully intended psychologically demoralizating abuse, nobody must put up with it.

Off the subject: Frenzy, I am hearing a ton of good things about COD4, yet the price and that it might run potentially slow onto my system has kept me off for buying it for now.

Personal opinions, specs please.
