I agree here. There's just not enough evidence to tar & feather, impale, hang and burn him alive...

While silently observing Mass on suspicion of botting (innocent until proven guilty.) his aim does "snap" to enemies, but it is a very much so natural snap, and his shaft feels the same, while he can almost definitely hit you on the first LG pulse, he can't always keep it locked on, though he plays well.

I've never accused Mass of being a cheater, botter etc.. for the records. I got a tip he might be aim botting and took action to see with my own two peepers.

Also this is only my views and opinions, others can say what they want.

Part of the reason sometimes eye camming in Quake is a poor way to assess if someone is botting is because the cam is lagged.

Sometimes watching him, a snap midair shot would happen before his opponent even popped out; to a regular observer this can seem like hacking, but actually it's a normal shot which is delayed a second.

Even in my original post I told him I'm suspicious but that doesn't mean I OUTRIGHT think he bots. I would need way more conclusive evidence than what I've seen. I've played him 1 on 1 about 8 times now and I've never seen anything that screams 'cheater', I think he was banned wrongfully because no one could clearly declare he was botting.

I will have to disagree with you. Played him many times since then he... unfortunately.. lets me win? Playing totally different against people now that he's been banned for a while and suspected of cheating. I agree he should be unbanned (if for anything, turning it off).

The first post in this forum was that I banned him. Turns out, I did not ever ban him. I'm willing to give him another chance. Thing is though.. If he wanted to establish some accountability for his "years of experience", he would have let people know who he is since he did show up in 08 on the forums... what hes about. Instead he can only say he showed up in 08 and had plenty of time to get rid of rust after 8 yrs without anyone really acknowledging him on a server or that he even existed then. No one really knows him by his "other names". He magically must have become better for so many to complain about him. I buy that about zero.

Are there any 2 people exactly alike? He admitted himself that the link I posted to strangers "do I cheat" forum post sounded just like his story. Maybe it is. I actually still believe he is stranger. If the shoe fits, wear it.

To be more positive about the situation... I could add that the web admins could pull logs of ip addresses that logged into those accounts. Would clarify some things. Prove me wrong. Which I'm all for because there is someone wanting to play quake.. that can't at speaknow. I'm sure if someone is botting or using toggle assist.. If they were banned for an extensive amount of time and were to be able play again at servers they were banned from.. all the accusations would either stop or intensify. Second chance?

Lols. You can check my IP with Stranger's. According to his account on here, which I do see him online on these forums every now and then, he is from Canada. I'm from Minnesota. The reason I signed up on these forums was to ask why I was banned, which is obviously why that was my first post. I had no other way of contacting anyone who ran the server. Hell, Stranger has a picture on his profile. As do I. I'm a long haired Asian guy, he isn't. We're not the same person.

I don't play any different since all of this BS started. Sometimes I do tend to put less effort into my game, but that's about it. I've always done that. From the looks of how servers are run now, it'd seem like I'd have to put a lot of effort into creating/finding some sort of bot that can get past the security scan, but I really have no interest in doing so. I play for fun, as I'm sure everyone else does. Yeah, I like to win, but I'm definitely not going to go out of my way to hack in order to do so. That's pretty stupid.

Obviously if I did cheat, I'd probably give the same story, but anyone who knows me or has eyecam'd me can tell you that I don't.

Or because you walk around maps with no fluid motion.. seem to wonder aimlessly around them, bumping into walls, as if you are retarded, try to rj fast around them with sad results yet you have superb aim when you shaft someone or even two people while your lg magically shifts to another that is flying in your FOV as if your mind comprehends shit so fast it can process the information, +attack them, then return to the original player you were fighting with lg +attack when the latter is out of sight. Unless you're playing someone that you know is demoing you or is an admin of servers and all of sudden.. you're horrible. However, that's because you sometimes put less effort into your game. I'm horrible all of the sudden? When was the last time you played me? One time last week? Say what you want, the people who I play on a regular basis will tell you my playing has not changed a bit since being accused of anything. I do have my off days and I have days where my eff is 30+%. It happens.

I've only recently been into RJ'ing all over the map and bunny hopping. As I've said, I've been an HPB up until I came back, and trying to bunny hop and RJ like this isn't exactly something that works out very well with 200+ ping. It's also something I never really worked on until now. I did, however, work on my shafting and rockets as a high pinger quite a bit, back when I played Quake as much as I did and I think it has translated well when I came back as an LPB. Well enough to the point of.. well, starting all of this.

If AutoSS showed your Quake folder, people would be autossing more frequently.

That is not the case.

I've been auto SS'd and it just takes a screen dump of what I'm seeing with a variety of quake models on it in different positions.
