Sniper? Do you realize how crappy pure DM is compared to CRMOD? CRMOD is as much of a debugged DM as ProQuake is a debugged Quake.

Pure DM you can do stuff like "kill", "kill", "kill" and can't change maps and otherwise turns the Quake clock back to what seems like the 1950's.

I'm all for CA+ but if anyone can program and get the source code for CA+ make sure it works for custom maps! b/c although ULTRAV sometimes, works on some servers i suspect there is two different CRCS to that map as some servers will give you host_errors and if you do get that other ultraV which is the same map and size, and everything it will eventually work on the server it didn't seem to work on before.

In short i want more custom CA maps and if possible most or all the ID maps to run on the CA+ module without crashing the god damn server!

Someone said, we already got CA+ and custom maps! well... we may have them on the server at hdz's ca port but it crashes if you run anything other then DM3 and Q1Edge.

So technically we have the illusion of having them... since all they do is crash the server, they aren't much good are they?

After all, i crashed the ra.clanhdz.com server by warping to a quake expo map that was listed in the server's warp to map....

I mean why list or have a map on a server if the damn server crashes ? It makes no sense, though i suspected for ages that HDZ abandoned their servers till i found out Vis, still visits them time to time. ^_^

Anyways CA+ or CA++ is my vote. Get to work programmers! oh and i also vote CHEATFREE! (PROQUAKE) FUREVER!

max has been the prominent CA server in quite awhile,and I myself favor a ressurection of max the CA+ server.

anything else wont be the same,no matter waht happens I got hdz though so im content.

Ler , me and phen was playin some mad-newmaps in CA on his private connection server,and it was nice shyt.

Also to add on that: Take a look at Gunter's Voting menu for DM. It's practically perfect and simple to use.

Just keep it CA. It's quick action, that attracted many players.

You should use R00k's CAx mod instead of CA+. CAx would be open source and would be coded to adapt to what the players wanted.

Well Stacey emailed me back sayn that max was still being rented out to someone which doesn;t make sense if u cant connect to it anymore..

But she also said the renter wanted to split the bill which to me is a bad idea. i can pay for the whole bill so only one person has to make payments. that seems like a solid idea.

I had a new server setup!

But honestly I feel it can be so much more then CA+

Earlier Tical, Krix, Mindz and a couple others helped test it, it runs smooth! everyone had a ping under 100.

I'm still wanting to put a custom mod on it, something that will appeal to Shmack/IHOC/CA players.

So if you have suggestions let me know!

Round based "Destroy the Flag"!

Instead of capturing the flag, your team and the enemy team each try to destroy the enemies flag with rockets. Your team earns a point upon winning the round, and then next round begins (CA-style).

Kind of a mix of CA+ and CTF that would balance offense and defense, but without the "having to return the flag" part of CTF, therefore it would be fast paced.

Truth is, it would probably turn out to be more like CA+ but trick CTF players into enjoying it because they'd get fooled by the presense of a flag.

And throw in 4 runes to attract RQ players, but make them all the useless haste rune.

And add a hook, but make it Trinicom-style "I can run faster than that useless hook" to attract hook-whores.

And then add the IHOC jetpack, but make it like a real life jetpack where you usually catch on fire too and it uses all your cells and rockets in the process. :d

With those choices, you will successfully have tricked everyone into playing on the server.

Baker, I deeply appreciate your thoughts about the mod, and I think 99% of it is awesome sounding.

but what happens when the CTF players find out "THIS ISNT CTF! ITS DTF!

or when the CA players think "Why does there have to be a flag!?

or the RQ players say "YOUR RUNES SUCK!"

Then that would leave me homeless broke and lonly
