I'm not trying to defend kimp because he has messed up plenty of games in dm and in ca. The fact is, so does a lot of people on a consistent basis. We haven't started a new phrase RQ just for kimp. The list goes on for people that rage quit and to point fingers at one person imho is wrong.

Yes, but there's a difference between what Kimp does and RQ'ing. Kimp will purposely ruin games because nobody will play DM with him. Just the other day, he joined a CA game with no intentions of actually playing. Instead he'd hide somewhere and wait until the end of the match. At that point he'd simply just run away from whoever was trying to shoot him.

Nobody else really does that.

I can at least understand why someone would want to RQ.

This really is getting out of control... I agree with everyone on this topic. Someone with authority should try to talk to kimp and break it down for him.. I mean i could even try to talk to kimp.. The guy thinks im a quakeg0d for some reason and listens to me...hah .. I actually don't mind playing with kimp in dm games when u catch him with one of his better personalities out of many. I don't know how many chances the kid has gotten in the past, but like i said above someone with authority should talk to him and tell him that was strike 1 or strike 2, like a little kid, and if he fucks with our Quake Community again we will all stick 2gether 2 get rid of the dood. Like wolv has said kimp is not the reason why oldskewlers are coming back.. We were playing dm games nightly for awhile. A lot more peeps would come back if someone like crackdog, zild, baker, someone that has knowledge of websites and how to run tournies.. A lot more peeps would come back just for the love of the game and just pure fun. No tournies, no prizes, noone interested period. Also, a rage quit can happen by anyone. We've all done it for some reason or another. Shit, i still punch my monitor when i lose to wolv or bruce in 1 v 1's.. haha. Going on keyboard 3,205 gg q1 ;p...

I have one more thing to talk about.. The dm scene has been at its peak right now in a very long time(which isn't very many people still). The core of guys that do dm we all respect eachother and know very well. Shit some of us have been playing since 96 baby SNS'd much? I could see how someone that is trying to convert over to dm that ca's or a rookie just trying to dm the majority of us aren't very nice to them or they dont like what they see and quit and dont come back. We need to clean it up a lot in my eyes. Let's start helping players out and teach them. Instead I/we tell them to type profile n shit.

I lied ONE MORE THING.. like Foq-TU has said in multiple threads and monster have said we need to start playing more maps... The other day playing q3dm6 with wolv i had a blast.. 4 v 4's on those maps and q1edge and any other maps would be so much fun. ztndm3 is fun as fuck, but that's starting to get played out.. dm3 or that dm3 or that.. if we start cycling thru atleast 4/5 maps a lot more players would play. Also, i think we should start mixin ctf in the mix or something.. Theres a few players out there that wanna start ctfin again... My suggestion is that those players start playing some dm with us and having a good time and in return we go play ctf with those who still want to and get both ctf and Dm like it's never been before... K im done thank u..

Playing more maps is a good idea, attracts more people and we do have more fun. As for kimp, I did have a chat with him, I told him he would get banned from both of my servers if he were to continue to ruin games/flood/impersonate/etc. I hope he has been behaving as I haven't been in for the past few days...

Its funny how I'm playing a good 1v1 with poop on chi.game-host.org with a steady 80 ping and not more than after 3 mins after kimp connects my ping sky rockets to 12309871234982, I'm icon'd and disconnected. I cant connect back to that server for some reason but can connect to others. My internet is fine and I have a really strong feeling kimp has something to do with this. I'm on the verge of not even playing anymore if this shit continues. I enjoy the game but these childish issues with an obviously immature individual who has nothing better to do than get under everyone's skin when we wont play with him is getting rediculous.

Kimp grow up, grow a set of nuts and make something of yourself instead of living with your parents at 30 with no job and no obvious future ahead. Leave quake alone and the tempers of the players who enjoy the game. Take a hint dude!!

Its also funny how kimp is playing poop right now 1v1 on chi.host-game.org. Did he fuck up my connect so he wouldn't have to wait to play??

KIRX, kimp has went way way way beyond strike 3. Taking a guess, I'd say he's on strike 10+. No matter how many times you try and give him another chance he turns around and does the same crap over and over.

The new maps is a great idea and something I've been trying to get others to do as well. The problem is, half of the players want to try the new map and the other half want to stick with DM3. If you warp it to a new map you lose the half that want to play DM3. I think part of the reason people are hesitant to try out the new maps is because there's no set strategy to go by yet. The games will resemble a FFA game for a while, until everyone figures out the proper way to control the map. I think it would actually be refreshing to have to develop a different strategy on the new maps.

We really do have a lot of momentum going with DM right now, it'd be nice if someone could organize a legit tournament that has a chance to finish.

Kathos, kimp has only gotten worse since your encounter with him on the hdz ctf server. He flooded your server with reconnections the other night. It was something that resembled a tantrum thrown by an 8 year old kid. He then proceeded to get on the server and spam my location in messagemode 1. This crap with kimp is getting really old. Is there any way you can give out code 0 admin access to a few of us who frequent your dm servers? I really don't care who has admin, as long as it's someone who's responsible and around a lot, because we all know that kimp is omnipresent.

It looks like Souless banned Kimp.

Kimp impersonated others on the board in the past trying to get people to give him server passwords and so forth. But he hasn't done that in a long time, so I'm not really so sure what Kimp did recently to get banned from the forums.

I don't know ... there's a private discussion of trying to figure out whether or not that ban should stay, but I don't think that's going to resolved today.

I'm not saying I know the answer, I'm just saying I'm not sure if Kimp did anything on the forums recently to get banned (servers and the forum aren't the same thing).

We'll see what gets decided upon ... I don't think any sort of decision will be made until Monday or so.

The newer ProQuake server has a feature called pq_connectmute that prevents that. If this happened on HDZ, they should really upgrade or if they are using R00k's modified ProQuake server, it should be added to that and updated.

Woah. A sincere Kirx. Yeah, I usually don't mind playing with Kimp when he's not throwing a fit. But lately every time I'm on, he's been doing it.

I try helping some players. A lot of the new guys who come to DM generally don't care though. And tend to RQ during the match. Those are the guys I never see again.

I agree Q3DM6QW is an awesome map. I remember when we were playing E1M2 for 2v2's a while ago. That was really fun as well.

as far as name spoofing to get information goes, people of value or people of no value should use good judgment about who they are talking to, even if it is an imposter with a similar name/clone name or a name that is far fetched and far off.. This is the "internet" even tho it seems like a secure little forum board because of the community size doesn't always mean its 100% true.

Someone who takes advantages of the weaknesses in Quake to ruin games. He's botted before. But probably worse he connects to servers where team games are being setup and interferes with player selection. And causes problems on servers that have essentially no administration and therefore no way to ban or kick him.

And has used a 1 second ability to talk even if banned in older server exes to spam text on servers he is banned on. And on banned servers, he has used proxies to connect.

He's not the first person to do this, of course.

But he is someone bringing to the forefront how these kind of things need to be fixed.

Anyone could do this kind of thing.
