Thresh/Paradise, Singe Bousman, etc..

Something I remembered from last year, I can remember around September +/- a couple of months ... Thresh made an appearance on various servers for a few days.

Among other things, Paradise beat him in 1 on 1 :d

(Although, that isn't completely fair since Thresh hadn't exactly been playing regularly or anything in a long time.)

I also remember about 3 years ago, Singe Bousman -- the creator of many mods, including Artifact Quake and Slide -- hanging around for a couple of days on the servers.

The only thing that reminded me of this is seeing the name "Frenzy" in GameStatus.net. I think Frenzy was in the Deathrow clan with Thresh.

Woo! I have no idea what you mean by that and will just assume the worst until someone explains!

I believe I killed Paradise once. It was the happiest moment in my life. It was the time I could stand up and tell the world "I KILLED PARADISE!!!!!". But of course in the ammount of time it took me to type all that out, paradise kills me.

I did some research,and Frenzy doesnt popup anywhere in my Google's for deathrow clan.they had a player named Frick though.

When Paradise is playing her best, every rocket she fires seems to hit me in the face. There is no one that is more fun to play against in FFA on DM6 to me.

Paradise gave him a quiz or something. I don't know. I remember Paradise saying something about how he "proved" it was really him, because I think most of us would be very skeptical about such a claim.

I remember FRENZY. I dunno if he was in DeathRow or not, but he always used to OWN ca.mtown.com where I used to play when I was a little kid. I saw him on a few days ago, and RA'ed with him. I had to leave early, but the match was a tie when I left.

"Singe Bousman", I assume you mean Nick 'Singe' Bousman, HE'S NOT DEAD FFS. infact he's in my channel alot and he's just happily hl2 mapping and such.

I assume that the only knowledge Tia has of Thresh is what is found on the Net.? If she does not know him personally then anyone who can play half way decent can assume his identity for a few chuckles just by looking the same info up and after all.. it would be ok to be beaten at this stage of the game. ;� Then of course.. there's the chance.. slim as it is.. that it was really him.

Hehe, how do you all know I'm Baker? Could be an impersonator? I mean Baker quit Quake in 2002 for almost a year.

My IP wasn't the same when I returned. I had a different email address. I had to re-register at all the new messageboards.

I trust Tia. I believe he must have said something that was a clincher. It's possible that it wasn't.

I wasn't there, so I couldn't tell you whether or not it was reliable enough information.

I've seen many Thresh impersonations so I highly doubt it was him at all. Thresh may have been good at dm, but compared to todays best players that are left, he's nothing special. It's more of the legend he left behind in players' minds.

thresh didnt use his real name, that was the thing, he used the name of "roll3d"

we got into a discussion about quake, i forget exactly what it was, and he mentioned he was thresh.
