I believe there are multiple "blank" characters that will hide someone from the +showscores list, and based on what I know of quakec, a mod can't check for all combinations... it'd just might be too much code to write and have the server check every second. If quakec could check just the first character of a name, then it'd be easy. However, as others have said, the player still uses a slot in the server, and can be seen by the status and test commands.Comment

Not sure if this helps or not, but I used to get in to full-capacity Widomaker a few years back by entering with a blank name, then quickly renaming before the server caught on to my having a blank name. Console operations went along these lines:
name " "
connect (whatever widomaker was)
name (whatever name I was using at the time)
If I'm not mistaken, I probably bound a key to the name (whatever) command so I could change my name faster—at the touch of a button, rather than typing it.e|------------------------0---------------
