  • Hey im Greg. I started playing quake in 1998 and quit playing around 1999. Decided just a few days ago to start playing again. I'm old school but I'm still a greasy noob. I look forward to seeing you on the servers and getting pineappled by all of you.

    Love,
    Gregory

    • Hi Greg, welcome to the forums.
Quakeone.com - Being exactly one-half good and one-half evil has advantages. When a portal opens to the antimatter universe, my opposite is just me with a goatee.

So while you guys all have to fight your anti-matter counterparts, me and my evil twin will be drinking a beer laughing at you guys ...

          • Ah nice. I think my favorite old DM server was quake.fundy.net, and I think quake.1st.net was another one. Never got to play Team Fortress but I always wanted to.

And my CTF server was quake.dread.net

            • Hey, I'm new but not new to the game. My "top years" were around 8 years ago, when I was 10 years old. Then I discovered Counter-Strike (bèta 5/6), but it became really sucky since the versions. Now I'm in college, and my PC isn't very high-end so I'm trying Q1 again. I'm really glad I found this site, I was afraid the Q1 community would be completely dead.

Hope to have a good time here!

              • No sir, some think Quake is dead. I simply just can't see it. Glad you found the site.

If you have any questions just find the forum topic that suites you and you'll be taken care of.

                Welcome.

I will find you... it's only a matter of time.

                • Oh yeah, some info on me:
I'm a 18 y/o Dutch guy, going to college at the RuG (RijksUniversiteit Groningen). You guys probably will know shit about Dutch universities but maybe there are some Dutch users here who'd like to know.

I've played with (and against) some of the best Dutch players, like GooK (I use his config), Kadaf1 and Speed, and I have been admin on some Dutch servers (asia.euronet.nl, kt1/2/3.euronet.nl).
My favorite map is DM3 and the map with the buildings (a city-like map) Forgot the name. Fav. weapon is the shaft.

Thank you for the welcome and taking time reading my (semi-interesting) posts!

Are you talking about Fragtown for the city-like map?

                          • Hello, I'm Cadpig. I play quake. Badly, but the way I see it there are a lot of good players that would look pretty silly if I were not there to prop up the scoreboards

I am from the UK and have been playing quake on and off for about 10 years.

I was given my alias in 1997 when I used to spout hippie sayings and was told that I should change my name to Cadpig, so I did and it stuck.

                            • Welcome to the community Cadpig! I didn't have an alias until I returned to quake 4-6 years ago. In LAN games, you never needed an alias.

                              See you on the servers.
